I purchased an item from a company and paid for it through PayPal.

Because the item was not shipped and the company would not reply to my messages, a dispute was filed with PayPal to get a refund.

The company shipped the item only _after the dispute was filed. The company did not get our permission to ship it after the dispute was filed. The item was refused and shipped back to the company.

PayPal closed the dispute and did not refund my money.
PayPal did not notify me of their action on the filed dispute. This is poor practice, especially when you are dealing with someone's money.

I closed my account with PayPal. I phoned PayPal to try to resolve this dispute. PayPal insists that I have to login to my account to address the dispute that they closed.

I phoned PayPal and they would not research this. They refered me to their website and to log into my account, which is closed. PayPal doesn't get it. I am at my wits end trying to get my refund from either the company or PayPal.

I have to now dispute the payment I made to PayPal (through my credit card). But I am afraid that PayPal will electronically take money from my bank account which is not authorized. Sigh.
