In Dec.2010, I purchased a Paypower Visa card. I could not activate it online (said my number was invalid) so I activated by phone. When I went to register a username and password online, I could not.

I called again, was told I had another outstanding Paypower card. I had not ordered one. Apparently, when I called to activate, they ordered me a personalized card, without my permission.

I could not use my card for online purchases, which is the only reason I bought it. I was told to wait for the new card to arrive, and it would be easy to transfer the funds from the original card to the new one, and then I could use it. I tried, was again unsuccessful. One agent told me I should register the card in the name and social security number of a friend and then use it! They encourage identity theft!

I was told to fax them the receipts from my cardpurchase, and they would transfer the funds. I did, waited 48 hrs, called again. They said they had not received my fax (I am holding a fax confirmation of transmission).

I have been trying to resolve this for 3 weeks. During that time I have spoken to countless agents, supervisors, and I have been disconnected over a dozen times when they are "checking" or "transferring me to a supervisor." I have emailed their customer service. I have called so many times and put on hold for so long, my phone regularly dies during my contact with this company.

I have read other complaints online that I am not alone, others have been cheated, told their faxes were not received, had personalized cards ordered without their knowledge, etc.

I have requested my funds be refunded to me, to no avail. I know they arecharging me a service charge, even though I am unable to use my own money. I am out over $250.

These people are thieves with no consciences, no morals, no ethics, no soul. I don't know how they can continue in business.

Issue resolved!

#2Author of original report

I just received a personal phone call from Darrin Byers (sp?) who identified himself as running Blackhawk, the parent of Paypower. He was most sympathetic, said he took problems such as mine seriously, and he said what I had been trying to accomplish had been done. He said the business is relatively new, they are still working out the kinks. Anyway, it took me 3 weeks on the phone, and all day today on the computer, but my issue is resolved, and I am happy. Thank you Darrin!
