They called me supposedly as a follow-up from service a year earlier, claiming I had multiple invasions on my computer (over 800) and said if it got to 1,000 my computer would crash. Said they would fix at no cost based on previous service. (found out later that it was not the same company). Next step was I need to add malware protection plus 2 other apps - cost $100 each - payable with iTunes cards. Was told that any denomination as long as I had total $300. They then called to say those cards were not compatible with my computer - had to buy $100 cards but they would refund the original $300. After giving them the new numbers they said because of arrangement with their bank, and previous excessive refunds, $500 was the minimum refundable.

I got the additional $200. The technician was always extremely polite and reassuring. After some days and I didn't hear back I called and was told I needed to get another$200 to initiate the refund process, but $700 would be refunded. This same routine was repeated over a period of about two months. The next step was that $1,000 was the minimum that could be refunded. I am now up to $1,100, and the last time I called I was told I needed to get another $400 in iTunes cards and all $1,500 would be refunded. I told him I refuse to spend even another one cent, and I wanted my refund. Each person I talked to about the refund gave a song and dance about iTunes having the money and making the rules, and them not being able to do otherwise. They kept calling and I finally told them no more calls - send my refund.
