I have had an account with Peebles for about 6 years now and have always paid my bills on time. Over the summer I became sick and got behind on some of my bills, this being one of them.

Some where along the way Peebles was taken over by World Financial Network National Bank. Because of the late fees and overlimit fees that they add on to my account every month even though I make a monthly payment it is costing me a fortune and don't see getting it back under control anytime soon.

They have threatened to turn my account over to a collection agency and call repeatedly throughout the day. I was even told to file bankrupsy to clear my account with them. On another call I was questioned in depth as to why I made purchases with my charge card if I knew I couldn't pay for them. I made all of the purchases prior to getting sick and had no way of knowing I would get behind.

I don't appreciate the way I am being treated as I am on of their VIP Bronze members and feel I deserve better treatment. I am still getting late fees even though I am making the payments before the due date. The last phone call I actually spoke with them on they said the late fees would continue until I was completely caught up on what I was behind. The amount just keeps shooting up because of all the fees they are charging me monthly. I don't know what else to do.

Hope

Try and make a payment plan.

Why don't you try and make an additional payment plan with the company to try and bring you back up on your payments? I've had to do that in the past and it really helps. It also shows them that you really are trying to pay it off. It doesn't have to be much. My additional payment on the past bills (still had to pay the minimum monthly anyways) was $25 a month. As long as I paid I wasn't harrassed in any way.
