i ordered the 30 day trial from pei carlton sheets for $10. when i got it, i never got the chance to really open the box and looked at it. before the 30 day was up, i had no choice but to open the box to get the phone number so i can call to obtain my confirmation number.

so i sent it out through postal service, and just last night(6/17/04) i went over my visa statement and found that i was being charged by pei carlton sheets.
I called the toll free number this morning, and they claimed the box were check twice by the two checking stations and all of the most expensive items were not in the box. they found my confirmation number in there but not the video tapes and the dvd roms.

the customer service personal told me that it's my fault for not insuring the box/package that i sent back. so therefore i have to pay for the everything costing me $500 somewhat dollars. this is very skeptical. i used the postal service a lot and never had any problem with them. the only time i insure a mail is when it's very important that only that certain individual receives it. I'm very upset and need help to cracked down on there dihonesty.

Be Careful ..just follow their guidelines to the letter.

I would do the following in these situations.

1. If you are not satisfied with what you have gotten and start the process of returning the package, just follow their guidelines to the letter.

2. Have everything documented, and please, this part is important, keep your reciepts and or invoices. If you have to take pictures to prove your case, do that.

3. When you get to the post office, make sure you get delivery comformation. This way, you can go online, and track the status of your package return. If you send it express mail via USPS, then the tracking part will be very simple as well as the return part of it. Post Offices in just about all location will tell you exactly when the receipiants will recieve their package.

4. Make calls to the company to ensure that you have did everything that they wanted you to do. Not doing so will cause the problems most people are having.

5. If after doing all this, you are still getting charged, then it's time to start filing formal complaints to the Better Business Bureau. And when you get to that step, make sure everything for your case is tight like vice-grips. Have all documents and supporting documents.

This might seem like a whole lot to do, but believe me, when you have been ripped off a few times, you start fighting back, and becoming wise to these little scams that companies run to milk you for your hard earned dollars.

Very sorry to hear of your experience. Although Mr Sheets' program is horribly outdated and realistically ,you cannot buy most homes on any amrket for no money down, take your anger out on the proper company. American Marketing Systems aka Professional Education Institute 7020 High Grove Blvd, Burr Ridge Il 60527. Thses are the villians whose billing scams have dealt nasty blows to pocket books across the country.

Sadly, even if oyur package has not been mailed out to you, we are instructed to tell you it has been sent. You are billed on the 40th day from the date the order is made directly to your credit card or debit card without notification. As far as expensive items missing from box, that is most likely a computer glitch at the warehouse in Wood Dale Il. Too many incompentent people too lazy to dig through the entire box and get all items out.

Also your return could be recieved in time before return date and yet somehow it is not entered in the returns until 5-10 days later causing it to appear as a late return, thus getting a 30 days letter stating they recieved the return ,however it was late and they will continue to bill and offer to reship package to you.

Hey Andy,

How are you? I hope that this posting finds you in good spirit and health.

I have never gotten involved with this company, but from reading all of the reports, I can tell you that it's nothing but a scam. I personally would not pay them a dime. I have been scammed by the other, old, decrepid, ready to kick the bucket, "GURU" company named the John Beck Mentoring Institute and they never received a dime from me.

NO WAY JOSE!! I could care less if there was a signed agreementment involved, for it was definitely them who have breeched it, so they can wipe their a*s with their contract, their fraudulent infomercial, and program.

The John Beck Mentoring Institute had no stipulated cancellation policy on their contract, because they, for some very shady reason, along with many other "GURU" programs, have found it necessary to implement "CLAUSES" in their contract.

If this in itself wasn't shady enough, if and when they fail miserably to live up to any of their fraudulent claims, they still have the audacity to attempt to claim posession of your investment. Many "CLAUSES" literally allow crooks to do so.

For many if not all of these programs, are just third party marketing companies, that piggy-back on the name of already established "GURUS" and are pushing the envelope and walking a very thin line, regarding business ethics.

I find it really hard to believe, that it should take anyone's parcel, more than five-seven business days to be received, by an interested candidate.

If there is a trial period involved in someones program, it should start when the candidate actually receives the materials and has confirmed taking posession of the materials, especially if he or she resides all the way across the pacific.

Otherwise, like Carlton's program, as you can see throught the many UNACKNOWLEDGED and UNRESOLVED complaints against it, will attempt to use the fact, that their program havn't been sent back in the little trial period window against you.

The mere fact, that a company would be so adamant about charging someones credit card, just because he or she has failed to return the merchandise in the little time frame that has been set fourth, strikes me as a bad business, or even worst yet, a scam.

On Average, it takes these companies two-three weeks to get their materials over to your home... and then, they expect the consumer to unpack the materials, thouroughly look them over and get it back to the company in less than a week? Why the rush?

If you want consumers to invest $500.00 into a program, that's probably worth no more than $50.00, at least give them a fair opportunity to look it over, or use a faster delivery service, or don't be surprise if many find your product and or service to be a scam. After all it's Carlton Sheet's infomercial which emphasises a 30 day trial offer.

Carlton Sheets should actually state in his infomercial, that the 30 day trial actually begins the day his company sends the product out and not the time the consumer takes delivery of the product, as to not deceive the public.

They should also, either use a faster delivery service or extend their trial period. But they won't, because this method makes them tons of money, even though they're aware, that many consumers will get stiffed because of it.

About not receiving the entire contents of the package back? I find this really, I mean, really really hard to believe.

With all the reports, that I've seen regarding the Carlton sheets program, I find it much easier to believe, that this company has set traps in order to rob people, than they have received a return carton with missing items.

What's the likelyhood of someone ordering a package, keeping some of the materials, returning the rest, finding out ther has been missing items, and then later writing a rip off report about their experience? C'mon, it just doesn't add up.

No one in their right mind, would deiberately attempt to return a package to a department store, with items missing. No different when returning merchandise via U.S. postal.

The fact that this gentleman trusted this company enough to not insure his package, only to find out later, that there had been items missing, to the tune of $500.00, strikes me as bizarre. I feel like contacting Ripley's.

As long as people watch television, these crooks will continue to do business in this manner. We need to all stop falling for this crap. If there's truly a way for people to succeed in real estate, trust me, you will never find it being sold on television.

If someone was sincerely interested in helping others to succeed, this is not the ethical way to do so. Until the day your family and friends are ranting and raving about their new found success, do yourselves a favor and run from these crooks.

Until next time, take care cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless each and every one of you.
