Penn Foster Career School925 Penn Foster is a rippoff! Internet
I completed two courses with Penn Foster and could not do nothing with the diploma, nor the certificate. There School is not affiliated with the state of Louisiana and many more states. My husband completed the course of Private Investigation through Penn Foster and found out through the State Board of Louisiana that Penn Foster is not an affiliated school up here and The Board tells us that my husband will have to retake the course all over again, in order to get a license. But Penn Foster still wants my husband to pay them after he completed the course, I want them to wait til the water run dry! and there is plenty of water here in Louisiana. I'm warning everyone, (STAY AWAY FROM PENN FOSTER SCHOOl)! and I think they also go by a name called Thompson Direct, but it is a good idea for everyone to file a report through BBB (Better Business Bureau) This school should not even be in business. When I called Penn Foster and told them about their school is not affliated with Louisiana, I was put on hold and the woman returns back seconds later with a made up lie saying "I checked it out, "and Louisiana does accept our diplomas. " That upside down lieng heffa! (People, donot start a course with PENN FOSTER nor THOMPSON DIRECT) Why pay for something that you can't use!

PS: I am not the owner or affiliated with the school in anyway. Why rip off report has me marked as owner is odd and concerns me.

As the last person stated it is your job to verify that your state board accepts Penn Foster. Penn Foster is accredited both Nationwide and also through the Pennsylvania state board of education. Don't be upset because you didn't do your homework.

CHECK THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LICENSE BEFORE ENROLLING!

Whenever you are going into a licensed profession always check with the state before you enroll in any school to make sure the program will completely satisfy their licensing requirements. They change from state to state, so no school will always be good for every state. Your husband needs to find out specifically what the requirements are and fill them. Often, it just an internship in the chosen field.
Penn Foster is Regionally and Nationally Accredited. If they won't accept that, you need to find out why from the state!
Also, if you have completed two programs from the school and still are not employed, maybe you need some help in professionalizing your job search and application skills. I have seen this with state universities. "Professional students" will end up with many diplomas and degrees and still be unemployed. Something is wrong. You just need to find out what it is and correct it!
