back in 1999/2000 i lost primary custody of my son (I am Female).. I still don't know the reason i am not a drug user or an abuser . i had just finished school as a medical assistant and take a job at the children's hospital (3-11 shift) and had a good nursey for him and family to take care of my son. I worked about 32 hours a week at about 8.00 per hour and had an apartment and good transportation. i was devastated when the finial judgement was passed that my ex husband was given primary custody.. even after he did not call in during a custody hearing (he was living in atlanta and working as a security guard) the judge blamed it on the construction in the courthouse and my attorney (which my parents paid for) did not object and tell the judge my son should have been award to me because of my ex's neglagence . after my ex father inlaw told me that my ex did not call because he knew he had loss the case.. but he did not.. he attended the resechuduled one and was awarded my son... next came child support,, i gave my attorney my recent check stud after shel told me the amt of support i was to pay i was shocked because i did not make alot of money.. when i looked at the stub i told her that there was a bonus on my stub from working extra shifts whent the hospital was very busy.. she asked me why i gave her that stub i told her i was not thinking(I had just been through trauma) .. she just brushed me off and i had no more money to give her to straighted it out.. i did not know i could have gone back to court and have it reduced.. now i am told i owe over $33,000 !!!!
my mother recently died and left me a small annuity.. the child support office took it to pay the dept.. i owe my sister for part of the funeral and expenses.. my sister said she was going to call my ex and demand the money back( i know she will threaten him with a law suit)
that is why i want to sue the state of florida because of the judge, the attorny and the childsupport office !!! i have not received a tax refund and my ex husband is always filing to get more money from me... he lied and told the office in georgia that i have not paid anything... before Katrina hit i was sending him checks than i moved to texas and finding jobs are hard..right now i am a field rep for foster grant and make 50- 100 dollars a week and i know they will take half!!
i know time have passed but i want to know if i can still file??

The courts don't just make a decision and say one parent gets custody over another without giving reasons, and generally they give multiple reasons. For them to take the Father's side(VERY RARE) you must have had something very negative in your situation.
If a support issue was ordered, it gives a certain amount you must pay. If you failed to pay it you are in default and subject to interest and penalties. Now, for you to owe $33,000, what does that include? How delinquent were you in your payments?
Also, it is now 2017, if this was back in 1999 your child is now at least 18(or very close to 18) so why is your Ex still coming after you for more support?
What are you failing to tell us.
As for filing a suit..that time has passed a long..long..long time ago. But even if the time hasn't passed, any suit against the judge would be tossed out of court
