Pentair Hoffman Enclosures Pro rata vacation policy scam Mount Sterling, Kentucky
I have worked for Hoffman Enclosures for 8 years and recently Pentair corporation took over management of our facility and immediately started changing employee policies. My first year at the facility I did not receive any vacation, I earned if for the next year. Seven years later my vacation time that I earned the previous year was 120 hours but I only received 100 hours because the idea was that Pentair wanted everyone to start the new year in January receiving their vacation time and started after January (Feb.). Little did I know that we would be starting the year EARNING our vacation time for this year that we had already earned the previous year.
They cheated me out of a years worth of vacation plus the 20 hours they shorted me for the previous year (140 hours) and now what I would be earning for next year I am earning it AGAIN for this year and starting the year off at zero. The proper way to do this if they wanted to would have been to give us double the vacation time for last year instead of shorting me 20 hours but instead they are trying to tell us that we are out a whole year of earned vacation time. I feel like I have been robbed but the only explanation we get is that "you aren't looking at this correctly". I am not an idiot and don't appreciate being treated like one by a company that I have given my loyalty and hard work to for many years. This policy has not only effected my finances and planned time off but anybody that has been working there for more than 2 years because all new employees start earning their vacation now as soon as they start. How fair is that?

I too am a victim of the vacation scam up here in Minnesota at Hoffman/Pentair Tech Products, they tried to tell us our vacation was awarded to us. I like you had to work 1880 hrs the first year to earn my vacation. Imagine how much money they screwed us out of. Most people up here had 3 wks of vacation up to 6wks of vac. They saved a few million on that one.

Anyone buying enclosures from Hoffman/Pentair that are made of 10 gauge mild steel material from the Mount Sterling facility should be advised that it is 11 gauge material instead. At least I am not the only one being ripped off by these scheisters.

" I am not an idiot and don't appreciate being treated like one by a company that I have given my loyalty and hard work to for many years. "
Company loyalty? Where have you been for the last few decades. That concept disappeared with bell bottoms. Most companies would like their employees to be loyal, but true loyalty works both ways. I don't know of any modern corporation that recognizes the concept of loyalty to employees. They barely recognize the concept when it comes to actual shareholders.
