Complaint Review: People's Choice Movers / Tracy Smith

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I found "People's Choice Movers", an uncorporated business online and after talking to "Tracy", was assured that my move would be handled by professionals who know how to pack even the most fragile furniture.

She assured me the movers would come in promptly by 10:00 a.m. and everything will go smoothly her ad reads "You provide the truck and we'll take care of the rest." Well, she took care of it alright... to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars in damage!!!


Here is what happened on the day of the move:

1. The movers did not start work until 2:30 p.m.

2. They did not come with any moving equipment or supplies e.g. dollies, hand trucks, etc.

3. Worst of all they ruined my furniture! 2 TVs were completely smashed during the move because they didnt even bother to cover them up with a blanket or anything.

4. They placed a $10,000 gold/porcelain statue in the center of the truck to allow it room to shake, move around and break into several pieces, knowing that its a very expensive and fragile piece.

5. They stood a kitchen table on its legs, guaranteeing its destruction.

6. Marble coffee table: ruined on account the movers failed to cover the marble slabs with any blankets. The frame from the table also broke.

7. I have shards from a mirror just about everyhere.

8. Two living room chairs were turned upside down and heavy items were placed on top of the lining to allow the lining to rip along with other screws and material that make up a chair.

I havent unpacked completely but I'm certain there is more damage.


After contacting TRACY SMITH of PEOPLE'S CHOICE MOVING HELPERS and letting her know what happened, she gave me a run-around and told me she'll call me back. She finally did call me back after I called her numerous times. She responded that she doesnt know what to do and attempted to place me on hold, claiming that one of the movers is on the other line.

However, she didnt realize that she didn't really put me on hold and I was able to overhear a conversation she was having with someone that appeared to either be a therapist or a life coach.

I called Tracy back and demanded her last name and she responded "I wouldn't dare disclose that information under such circumstances!" and hung up on me!
