i called about an ad that was in the local paper that said:
NOW HIRING-COMPANIES desperately need employees to assemble products at home. no selling any hour. $500 weekly potential. info 1-985-646-1700 dept. al-928

when i called the woman never gave me her name but ask me the dept.# and went right into telling me how wonderful these companies are, that they are ALL with the BBB AND THEY HAVE CHECKED THEM OUT! i listened to the sales pitch and then ask her what type of refund do they have if this is not something for me and she rep;ies "we give a full 100% refund minus s&h witch was $4.03 my total after s&h was 43.95.

i got the package two days later with the book of "companies", all that charge a fee to get information there are a total of about 65 pages of offers to work from home but heres the kicker each "company" is listed at least 3 times and only one is actually with the BBB and they had a bad report on there.

i called the "customer relations department" AT 1-985-646-0214 to get a recording that said "DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE BECAUSE NO ONE WILL RETURN YOUR CALL", "PLEASE MAIL US A LETTER" i have written a letter but do not expect to get a call or a anything back.

i know that $43.95 is not a lot to some people but because i have a heart cond. and can not work it hurts more knowing that not only have i lost money that i could have used on something else but there is not a real job that i can do at home. please if there is anything you can do to help me please do it. thank you

Brief Overview of this SCAM

I have tried to remain modest about this despite my gut feeling. My experience is as follows: I purchased the "membership" for $45 and I asked quite a few questions on the phone. For starters are you required to have the membership to work for these companies, "yes." Do you have to buy the products on consignment, "no, but some have start up fees or deposits." That's totally understandable to me. I mean they can't just randomly mail materials out to anybody that asks for them.

Basically in a few days I received this small stapled paperback book detailing the company's ideals and why they are in business. All solid, in my opinion. So I start researching some of the companies they represent and come to find out the majority of them are rated "F" with the Better Business Bureau. Some of the websites didn't work, and some of the companies were listed with BBB as out of business or that they changed their name. Those names can also be found in this book. Some of the companies have actually gotten in trouble with the BBB for deducting undisclosed costs. Don't get me wrong there are a couple with a "C" and even one gig making bookmarks that has an "A+" but my optimism is starting to diminish.

I just have a hard time understand how a company like this can stay in business. They "back" all of the companies they represent, yet the majority have discouraging profiles.
If you like to sew this might be a nice opportunity for you, but in the meantime (due to the desperation of income) I'm going to try one out and post my thoughts later.

update:letter returned

#5Author of original report

i sent a letter on feb.5, 2007 and it was returned to me yesterday! it was sent registered mail so someone had to sign for it. no one signed but wrote "return to sender" across the middle of the envlope.

this just proves to me that this company is nothing but a scam, they want your money for their crap and they dont give a crap about you. they must have caller id because when i tried to call them after getting the letter returned it went straight to voice mail saying "the office was closed, please call back during normal bussiness hours" this was 12:00 in the afternoon so i tried back at 4:00pm and got the same voice mail!

this company does not care about the people just their money! i wonder how many others just in my town called and did the same thing i did, put faith into crooks!
