I sign up for a 'free' background report from identityforce.com. I read the terms about canceling the trial membership within 7 days etc. etc.  So I copy the the link from the terms and prepare the cancellation email ahead of time and que it up in my drafts file.  I wait 5 days and still no background report so I fire off the cancellation request.  A couple of days later I get a 'my background report'.  Of course the data contained therein was merely garbage and possible relatives and aliases etc. I re-sent a copy of the cancellation request.   Some days after that I get an email telling me that I don't have a trial account with identityforce to cancel. So I figure that someone processed my first request and the second one was a moot point.  a month later I get dinged for $39.95 peoplesmart membership and $14.95 monthly service fee and some other chicken s**t charges that got past me mainly because these paperless credit card statements are designed to be a pain in the neck to view so people don't always view them. I'm guilty of that.  This month I did take the time and found another charge for $14.95 which lead me back to the other charges.  So I contacted these crooks and told them that I didn't approve these charges and that I had sent in my cancellation and blah blah blah. The gal says well you sent your cancellation to a completely different company.  We're peoplesmart they're identityforce. We can't help it if you sent your cancellation request to a completely different company.

Once again the internet has proven to be the medium of choice for bait and switch artists and once again the credit card companies will back them up and charge me outlandish interest. The moral is NEVER agree to any terms or conditions online as they change the instant you click continue. And would you believe ripoff report makes me do just that to warn others of this scam.
