PeoplePC ISP RIPOFF You Can Never Leave Oakland California

My experience appears to be quite common among other consumers regarding this ISP. This particular ISP makes it impossible to cancel a membership. Try calling customer service to cancel and the message is quite clear that any such attemps are completely futile. The message you're likely to hear is that hold times exceed 7 minutes, and that you might try calling at a later time. Before having an opportunity to contemplate your choice, you're bounced out to the main menu. Essentially, you're left to resolve that the cancellation department is completely illusory, and meant to provide for the appeal of a full service ISP. Now the fun part begins... how do I convince my bank that a fraudulent act has taken place? Depending on your bank, this may take a considerable amount of time, as well as add to your frustration. Although lenient at one time, my bank now requires some form of proof before they will take further action. Of course, People PC would rather feign complete ignorance, than admit such difficulties only garner them increased profitability.

My bank's suggestion to contact the merchant, only left me with one other alternative, which was to cancel the card. AOL has gone as far to engage in similar unethical tactics, but not on the scale that PeoplePC has. One thing I've learned over time concerning all things IT, no matter how good the product, customer service should be of utmost importance to you. Anything less than above average customer service is going to inevitably brinng you a world of hurt.
