The so called real peoples bank of Newton NC.


Its my opinion and experience to tell anyone who is looking for a bank to open a checking account or savings account, And or maybe a business account. I would not recommend peoples. This bank is like all banks they are in it for profit.


But I can only speak of the experience I have had with Peoples, I have been a customer for probably 5 or more years. They are more in it for profit at your expense rather than Good Customer Service, I am talking more about the management than the customer service employees. The employees cannot help that the upper management or owners maybe a little shady.


Peoples Bank are always looking for new computer software that will help them profit at no matter what the cost. Peoples Bank old customer online software had a few loop holes that benefited the customers, But of course peoples bank are greedy and changed online software about 7 months ago, Of course this new software has flaws which benefits the bank, And of course if you bring this to the attention of the bank or Connie Ollis, They are going to cover it up.


Remember Peoples Bank is perfect and don't make misstakes, Instead they hide them. They put profit before customer service. Peoples Bank charged me 3 overdraft fees, When in fact I had money in my account. This is one of the problems with the new software. I called the bank and customer service said she did not know what was going on, She put me on hold, When she returned she still could not explain why the bank charged me three over draft fees since I had a balance, She finally said they she would give me credit for 2 of the fees but not 3.


Since this is a misstake on the bank and their new software, Legally I should have received 3 credits not 2. This is a violation Of AntiTrust Laws, And a breach of contract.


I filed a complaint with FDIC On 07/08/2010 and just received a letter from them on 09.29.2010. Im not sure why we even have FDIC, Because Connie Ollie sent her explaination to FDIC on behalf of the bank, Of course she will never admit to any wrong doing, Or she would be job hunting come tomorrow.


FDIC Will do nothing, All they are good for is to be a middle man to exchange letters of complaints from the consumer to the bank, And so forth. Plus you have to remember that people at FDIC have friends with banks all over the USA.


Peoples Bank use to let customers withdraw $10.00 from ATMS but changed that to $20, But remember they claim the customer comes first. Plus they recently changed somethings, Example you can use any ATM and never be charged, Now since the new laws where passed recently and some people opt out of the overdraft protection, Banks will lose money, So they have to make up the differents. One thing peoples is doing now, Is that you can still use any ATM and not be charged but now they put a limit on them, I think its like 4 per month now.


And other things they changed to benefit from where money will be lost from overdraft fees.


Also if their is anyone who banks with peoples bank now that had overdraft protection added to your account without you knowledge or consent.


In other words, Peoples Bank added overdraft protection to most accounts that had been with them for sometime without the customers consent. Also you will notice on the new online software that you will see charges been on hold, The bank claims this is because the retail store etc where you used your debit submitted only part of the charges, And that the charges will come out later when it is submitted for the full payment.


In reality this is what the bank is telling people, But instead what they are really doing is reordering transactions, And paying the Highest to the Lowest for profit to the bank.


When they reorder transactions and pay the highest to lowest it creates 3 or 4 overdrafts instead of one. So the bank makes $132.00 instead of $33.00.


If you look at your bank statements, You will notice that the debits are paid out like for example. $50.00, 40.00,29.00. 12.00, 6.00, 3.50.


And you know from writing the charges down in you check book , and kept your receipt that you notice the debit was made on 09.12.2010 but the bank shows it coming out like 3 or 4 days later. Thats because the bank is reordering your transactions and  paying highest to lowest.


Their has been a lot of banks sued by class action for this. Its illegal the banks are putting profit before customer service, At your expense. Its a violation of AntiTrust, Breach Of Contract Etc.


If you are having this problem or other violation by the above named bank please Let me know, I have an attorney who I wil submit your information too. Connie Ollie said she IS NOT GOING TO GIVE THE OVERDRAFT CREDIT THAT IS DUE, FROM THE TONE OF HER EMAIL SHE IS MAD BECAUSE I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FDIC. BUT THATS OK BECAUSE SHE IS GOING TO COST THE BANK WAY MORE THAN $33.00 .

BANKS AROUND HERE APPEAR TO BE  PURPOSIVELY DELAYING DEPOSITS SO THERE WILL BE LATE FEES AND OVERDRAFT FEES BECAUSE THINGS ARE SO BAD --IN SPITE OF THE TAXPAYER BAIL OUT -- SO THAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

SAME FOR CREDIT CARDS.

I DO NOT HAVE OR WANT A BANK ACCOUNT OR CREDIT CARDS.

BUT I SURE GET TO HEAR MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE THEM CURSE AND COMPLAIN AND WAIL AND I HAVE TO TRY HARD NOT TO LAUGH OR SAY "I TOLD YOU SO."

MY FATHER AND GRANDFATHER SURVIVED THE 1930S DEPRESSION BECAUSE THEY HAD NO MONEY IN THE BANKS WHEN THE BANK HOLIDAY CLOSED THEM ALL UP AND PEOPLE LOST EVERYTHING THEY EVER HAD SAVED IN THAT FIASCO AND NEVER GOT THEIR MONEY BACK EITHER.

THE WAY THINGS ARE GONG, I THINK IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

I MIGHT LOOK LIKE A BUM BUT I NOT GET MY LIFE INTO A PRISON OR A SINKHOLE OF DEBT  AND I PAY WITH CASH AND I DO NOT HAVE THE REPOMEN AND THE BILL COLLECTORS AFTER ME EITHER.

I ALSO FOUND I HAVE A RATHER UNCANNY ABILITY TO READ THE STOCK MARKET AND THE ECONOMIC CYCLES. THEY CALL IT THE AUSTRIAN SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS. I CALL IT GOOD, COMMON  SENSE.

IT IS NOT GOOD COMMON SENSE TO PUT ALL OF YOUR MONEY AND IDENTITY INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THAT IS LIKE PUTTING IT ON THE FRONT PAGE OF EVERY NEWSPAPER IN THE WORLD.

THIS TO ME IS ONLINE BANKING.

CONSIDER IF A MAN WROTE THAT SO-CALLED SECURITY PROGRAM TO KEEP OUT THE THIEVES AND HACKERS--THEN ANOTHER MAN CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO BREAK IN THERE WITH HIS COMPUTER AND STEAL MAYBE EVEN ERASE OR SCRUB YOUR ACOUNT AND STEAL YOUR IDENTITY INFORMATION.

ALSO CONSIDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE ELECTRICITY GOT SHUT OFF IN A NATIONAL EMERGENCY LIKE IN CASE OF WAR OR TERRORISM.

I PAY MY 1 PERCENT AT THE CHECK CASHING PLACES GLADLY BECAUSE I DO NOT NEED THE s****.>
