I wish I had done my resarch up front...But I didn't. Their promise to have a credit limit of $5,000 fooled me. After reading the reports, I feel like a complete fool. They pulled me in, and unfortunately my money has already gone away.

I hope this won't happen to anyone else, and my message will help that end.

It was a funny feeling to get a credit limit at 5,000.00 dollars and 0% APR for 1 full year. Sounds great don't it? They sent me this letter on 9-27-02. It seems now that it is all a scam. I was ready to send in the $45 dollars but was reluctant. thier new address is po box 15650,Tampa, 33684-5650.

I have the worst credit in the world and i'm glad i found this information on the web. I hope that there is a way that we could solve this problem and not have anybody else loose any money. I don't have the$45 dollars and would have been broke for the rest of the week if i had sent it in.

Thanks to the RIP-OFF Report, that didn't happen. The letter was also signed by a Robert Stevens. Be careful everybody.

THANK-YOU

I received the "Acceptance Certificate" from Peoples Credit First on 9/30/02.
When I opened it, I read it throughly, got excited initially, and then came back to reality. I have been repairing my credit recently and thought the diligence had paid off.

I was at the Post Office ready to purchase a $49.00 money order (that's for Rush delivery). However, when I finished my other business and proceeded to leave, I realized that I had forgotten the money order. I paused to turned around but continued to my car. I said to myself, "Apply online after you get more information." Oh to my surprise I couldn't pull up a legit site using www.peoplescreditfirst.com.
I just got a one-page screen that requested an account number. I thought, "Acceptance Certificate. Account Number. No Application. That's nonsense.

I then went on a search, beginning with msn.com and lo-and-behold there this site was--listed ABOVE the "Peoples" site. As I read the site description, my mouth fell open as I said to myself, "Thank God for the Internet.

This severe case of false representation preys on individuals with less than perfect credit. I wonder how many people with A-1 credit got the same offer!!!! Think about it.

Is it possible to have this site in a Pop-up window link every time the "Peoples" site is entered in.

Thanks again for the prior comments that confirmed the feeling of cautiousness I felt initially.

I just wanted to say thanks for this website - fortunately when I got the $5000.00 pre-approved platinum card from Peoples Credit First notice something in my head said "be careful!" I decided to check out their website and investigate a little to see if they were legit.

It has been my experience that the legitimate visa or mastercards ususally send their terms with their solicitations. I can understand falling for this - it sounds great, but I've never accepted a credit card without knowing their terms first.

The other thing that made me nervous was there was no phone number to ask questions. Thanks again for getting out the information that these guys aren't for real!

About a week ago I received an acceptance
certificate from Peoples Credit First and my first thought was yeah right another one of these tear it up. Well Kim I thought it may be legitiate the processing fee is only $45.00 and it don't have a deadline to send it in and all the other fees that some of the other credit providers have.

No I thought get on line and check it out and call the company. However on line I couldn't get in because I didn't have an account number. This brought up some more red flags. I spoke to my sister who works in a loan dept for a credit union about it and we said it's just another way to get in debt well it can be an emergency card well you still end up using itshe said.

I thought someone wants to send me a credit card with a $5,000 limit with me having a bankruptcy. Don't fall for this look into it further.

Well I wanted to look the company up one more time and try to get a history on it and that was today and low and behold did all the rip off information come up. My co worker was like girl send it in I'm like no I have to research the company. She stated it's only $45.00 you'll lose well that's a lot of money to me and I just can't sacrifice that to scams. I have to research more I told her. I went to dnb.com to get the phone number since the web had no information for me and got no answer and I am so glad I followed my insticts and looked into the company and all this rip off information came up. Thank you for getting the word out and helping people before they get ripped off.

I thank God I thought before I acted and just held on to the envelope and I'm getting the word out to family friends and co workers to be careful before you send money away and apply for credit when your credit is bad. You will most likely get ripped off and in further debt if it is legitate.

They say I think I know everything well knowing things like this and researching kept $45.00 in my checking account. We must be aware as consumers of rip offs. We must as consumers stay out of debt and watch out for these credit cards that they send us in mail. This is what landed us in bankruptcy court accepting these cards in the beginning when your credit was A-1.

Thank You
