I received a letter from Peoples Credit First that was dated September 12,2002. It had stated that I was approved for a "Platinum Card".

The credit amount on this supposed card was $5,000.00 and it was claimed that there is a 0% APR for the first 12 months.

It was stated that a card had been reserved in my name.

The letter specifically states "Please sign and mail this guaranteed acceptance certificate and include your one-time only $45.00 membership fee. Once we receive this form with your membership fee, your Platinum card will be sent to you."

The letter was then closed with "Sincerely, Mr. Robert Stevens, Approval Department".

I sent in a check for the amount of $49.00 for rush delivery that Peoples Credit First claimed I would get for that price. However, I never got the card and decided to look up the company. I found that it was a scam.

I am calling my bank to cancel that check, if possible.
