Complaint Review: Peoples Rebate Association

This company contacted my 18 year old son on his cell phone and said he was pre-approved for a Visa with a $2500 credit limit. Being young and wanting to build his credit, he agreed to the $300 "security deposit". When he called to check on the card, he was told that he had been turned down, but they were sending him some rebate certificates.

He told them he did not want the certificates, he wanted his deposit back. At this point, they played a recording of his voice agreeing to the terms of the offer. What they did not record were all the statements and promises they made prior.
