Complaint Review: Pep Boys-#776

I took my 1979 Cadillac to Pep Boys to have the carb,water pump,power steering pump all replaced. After 2 days and almost $1000.00, I got my car back on Friday night.

I drove the car and found that the carb passing gear linkage was not adjusted correctly causing the car to shift incorrectly. When I contacted Jim the service MGR, he stated he had told me that the transmission was not operating correctly. Nothing was wrong with my transmission when I took my car to him.

Jim refused to look at my vehicle with out charging me for a diagnostic check, and was very impersonal about it. I have worked on cars all my life and I know what is wrong with it, but don't have time , or the place to work on it.
