Pep Boys An arm,almost a leg Orange Park, Florida
I took my Chevy truck to Pep Boys to have the ball joints checked. After about 20 minutes I was told the joints were fine however the Pittman Arms needed to be replaced. While the truck was in the air I inspected the arms and they were a little loose. I approved the change and after the work was done I once again inspected the work, thinking the problem was solved I drove off a happy camper. Not, continued to experience same front end problems.
I took the truck back and asked they check the AC unit, not to my surprise I was told the shaft bearing on the compressor was shot and the entire system would need replacing. A dye was used to detect leaks and I was told that I had numerous leaks throughout. I left without the 716.00 replacement. I had the system evacuated and recharged 5 months ago and to date have had no problems. These people need to be put out of business. I am sure they prey upon consumers who know very little about auto mechanics. Stay away from this alleged company and save your money.
