I want to inform you of my dissatifaction with auto services received on February 28, 2002 at Pep Boys #760, 2321 W. Expressway, Harlingen, Texas 78550.

I took my car in for the platinum preventive maintenance package
(order #1143336). After about four hours Joe Bravo the Assistant Service Manager came over to inform me my car was almost ready but that the car's engine light was now on and the mechanic did not know why.

About ten minutes later Mr. Bravo came back and asked if I could leave my car at the Pep Boys overnight because the mechanic put my car on the computer and the diagnostic test show nothing was wrong; however the engine light was on, the car was smoking heavily, and very hot under the passenger's front seat.

I informed him I needed to take something from my car. My seeing and touching the car I realized there was no way I could drive this car. I asked the mechanic what happened? He did not respond. I told Mr. Bravo and the mechanic nothing was wrong with my car, I was planning to go to Houston that Saturday and wanted every thing checked.

The next morning at 9:00 a.m. I spoke to the mechanic and he still did not know what was wrong, he informed me he needed to call the Hot Line for information.

About 12:00 p.m. Robert Werbiski Jr. the Service Manager called to inform me that I needed a new distributor cap, ignition rotor, and a set of spark plug wires because oil had soaked these items.

The engine light is still on and the car now smokes from the muffler

In the end I paid $375.38 for Pep Boys to cause my engine light to be on and for my car to now drive sluggish. I have taken my car back twice and spoke to the manager Frank Garza who told me the car was leaking oil before the mechanic started working on the car.

I told him I was sitting in the waiting area for four hours why did the mechanic not show the leaking oil, or tell me what happened the night before.

I want my $375.22 back to take my car to a Mazda dealer for repair. However, by now the damage is probably more than $375.22.
