I TOOK MY SATURN TO PEP BOYS IN LANCASTER TO HAVE A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE DONE ON MY CAR

AFTER PAYING AND DRIVING AWAY DID NOT GET A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I WENT BACK TO PEP BOYS IMMEDIATELY AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM

THEY STATED THEY ONLY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND NOTHING THEY DID COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM BUT THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT THEY RESET THE LIGHT AND I DID NOT EVEN GET A BLOCK AWAY AND IT CAME ON AGAIN

WENT BACK AND THEY STATED THEY WOULD HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS

WELL THE TECH WAS TOO INCOMPENTENT TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE COMPUTER SO THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY WHEN THE COMPUTER TECH WOULD BE IN SO I DID

THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $69 TO HAVE THEM HOOK THE COMPUTER UP TO MY CAR TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS

I REFUSED TO PAY AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT BEFORE I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THEM I WAS NOT HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON SO THEY SAID OK WE WILL HOOK IT UP AND IF IT WAS A SOMETHING THEY DID

THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE ME THE $69 FEE WELL IT CAME BACK SAYING IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO SATURN WHICH I DID

TURNS OUT THE PROBLEM THEY CAUSED WAS THE TECH WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO CHANGE MY OIL UNSCREWED THE TRANSMISSION FILTER BY MISTAKE AND EITHER PINCHED A WIRE OR BROKE THE PLASTIC RING THAT HOLDS THE FILTER IN PLACE

I CALLED PEP BOYS AND EXPLAINED TO THE ASST MANAGER WHAT HAD HAPPENED

HE SAID IF I WOULD HAVE SATURN PUT THIS IN WRITING THE MANAGER WOULD SURELY REFUND MY MONEY I CALLED THE SATURN COMPANY AND THEY GLADLY PUT INTO WRITING WHAT THE CAUSE WAS

I TOOK THIS AND THE OLD FILTER BACK TO PEP BOYS THE LETTER EVEN STATED THIS WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE AND EVEN SATURNS OWN TECHS FROM TIME TO TIME WILL MISTAKENLY DO THIS

DO YOU THINK THEY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND REFUNDED MY MONEY PLUS THE $105 IT COST ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM

NO NOT A DIME

SWEAR UP AND DOWN THEIR TECH KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WOULD NEVER DO ANY THING LIKE THIS

GUESS THIS WAS A LIVE AND LEARN MISTAKE AND A COSTLY ONE
