I am looking for anyone with a similar story that I have. My husband took my car to PEP BOYS and had the fluids changed and the tires rotated.

After they completed their work he drove around 50 miles when the right front tire came off and he went down an embankment receiving multiple injuries to his spine (12 messed up disks) along with a mild traumatic brain injury and injuries to his knees and his right shoulder.

During deposition the mechanic admitted he did not put the tires on or tighten the lug nuts because he was road testing another car instead of finishing my husbands car. Instead a 17 year old who sold or tested batteries (they aren't sure of his name because he had only been there a short time and disappeared after hearing of the accident) was told to do the work by the manager and the kicker is that manager never inspected the work like they are supposed to do but put another managers name on the work order as having inspected the work and he wasn't even present at work that day.

Now PEP BOYS is claiming this is a one time incident even though from searching the web it is definitely not and I need to find others who this type of thing has happened too.

Please respond by using the rebuttal box below if you know anyone this type of thing happened too. Also I will gladly talk to any press about this too keep others from being injured as my husband has.

PEP BOYS IN VIOLATION OF THE IRS

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, March 03, 2004

Rosemary, they cannot hire someone without an application, w-2 form, etc etc. So if someone was working there, and they tell you they have no information on this person then they are in violation of the IRS. So maybe they might be interested in this. Also the local and federal labor boards and the attorney general might want to hear your story.
These guys are in deep and they know it.

I need no credit for this...
