PepBoys Auto ripoff fraudulent estimate of repairs needed Audubon New Jersey
JUNE 4TH engine stalled out on 295 lost fan belts. I had AAA tow car to PEPBOYS closest repair center. The cause of problem the harmonic balancer was shot. Plus this caused the computer to quit and camshaft position sensor timing belt crankshaft sensorfuel miser new plugs and wires TOTAL 1400.00 with no guarantee this would repair the car. Also they will have to tow car to dealer for the computer work. Price did not include these additional charges with towing and any additional work they would have to do to complete work.
I was out of town on business for from June 5th to 10th and could not get a answer from manager what repairs were needed till friday 10th. I came into Pepboys Saturday 11th with a tow truck I hired to remove my car and send it to an honest mechanic on Rt 73 Mt. Laurel NJ where it should have gone in the first place. But I thought the car only needed fan belts.
After the true mechanic had my wife's car, it was repaired in 2 days for $597.00 and is running as good as ever. I also had to rent a car for the time her car was at pepboys, a cost I had to eat. In addition I put a stop payment at the bank for the $84.80 it cost me for this fraudulent estimate. If you feel you are getting ripped off you are.
