PepBoys horrorable service can not be put in words Tempe, Arizona
I got my shocks redone at Pep Boys and after 2 weeks of
excuses my vehicle as ready I was surprised by a $1,035.27 bill as I was quoted
at $700.00 exactly. After returning to my vehicle i noticed tools and part
missing after about 15 minutes an employee can forward and said "we didn't
think you would want them back" and promptly returned well over $200 worth
of my tools and vehicle parts.
After 11 days the rear shock blew out and my vehicle was sent into a skid.
After nearly crashing I got the vehicle to safety. I called Pep Boys who told
me the vehicle is safe to be driven that if I wanted it to be towed I would
have to pay $40.00. Once I got the vehicle into the shop I was told it wouldn't
be seen until the next day (12:00 at the time). I was told i could leave it
overnight or come back the next day. I was told i would get a call the
following morning with the status. I called them after hearing nothing all day
at 5:00PM no one seemed to know what was going on with my vehicle the manager
seemed clueless. Two days later I received a call asking me to come to the shop
so they could show me something. Upon arriving at the shop I was shown that the
shocks where blown out. The manager said I would have to pay to have them
replaced. To which I replied I paid this shop over $1,000 to fix this
exactly. I was "informed" by a technician that had
"refused" to replace the mounts previously. I rebutted that no such
option was submitted to me and they shod fix them free of charge. The manager
said there was no way they were going to do it. I rebutted that such issues
should have been brought to my attention if they were blatant safety hazards. I
once again requested to have the service performed free of charge to which the
manager replied quote "Go f*k yourself, we will not fix you
vehicle." I promptly phoned another Pep Boys near by the manager asked me
to bring the vehicle in to be taken care of. After arriving at the second Pep
Boys and waiting with the manager on the phone with corporate HQ I was informed
the labor will be free and I would have to pay a total of $40 for parts. I
gladly agreed and was guaranteed the vehicle would be ready the next day in the
morning.
