I know...I know. You are surprised to see the name of such "trustworthy" people written up like this. But I thank God for what is still left of freedom of speech, so that I can remind you that not all that glitters is gold.
I worked in the front office for a couple of years, where I was one in a long line of those who had to leave because the place was so poorly run.(The line even includes a couple of lawyers, I believe).
Every day at least one of the owners would walk past undeniable abuse towards junior staff by the managers- AND THEY WOULDN'T DO A d**n THING ABOUT IT! This is silly when you CONSIDER THAT THEY GIVE AWAY LOADS OF MONEY IN THE NAME OF CHARITY.
So I can only assume the charity is done for a tax write off, and to impress those who are already of their special ilk. Why else let the Mayor slap you on the back, break open the bubbly, knowing that some poor working slob is suffering right under your nose? Let's face it- dirt does not a millionaire make.
But being in good with the politicians, and finding legal loopholes that allow you to steal the property of any business that you can make easy prey...does. And hey, if the people who really know where the skeletons are buried get handsomely paid and are happy to manage/co-own your company for 'ya, why not?
I was able to get a good letter or reference from them, which now seems to not even be worth the paper it was written on. I left for another position, but ran into a very peculiar situation which really was not my fault. I ended up needing to collect unemployment.
Unfortunately the system dictates that the collection effort go back nearly two years- which meant that it fell back on those very charitable (TeHe) people.
Now it turns out that one of the other former employees had put them through the ringer with the Office of Unemployment, so in fear they viciously drug my name through the mud- the whole while being recorded by a claims examiner who was staring at a copy of the letter of recommendation I had been given. I can only assume they were really spooked about having Unemployment question them. Hmmm...
So now every time I try to seek better employment and they are contacted BY POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS WHO ARE LOOKING RIGHT AT THE LETTER OF REFERENCE, I never hear about that job again. I know that it is because I am being slandered, and I can proove it.
It's hard to imagine that people who have so much could be so base to those who do not, the whole time parading as angels of charitable mercy to the patrons of "Society". There is a bias in our culture which favors employers, and I guess that's just the way it is.
Whatever. BUT TO ALL YOU BUSINESS PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE TRYING TO GET IN GOOD WITH THEM AND HOPING IT MIGHT DO SOMETHING TO HELP YOU--WATCH OUT! I HAVE SEEN CHECKS MISPLACED, ACCOUNTS AND OTHER BUSINESS OWNERS "BURIED".
DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO- BUT TAKE THIS ADVICE FOR THE EXTREME AMOUNT THAT IT IS WORTH, AND DON'T SAY THAT NO ONE EVER WARNED YOU.
It really is sad, because I think that the original founders of the company WERE decent folk, and would probably roll over in the grave if they knew what went on there today. I'll bet that all of those trust funds would suddenly disappear if they could know just how untrustworthy that group of people now is. So on a personal note, I say goodbye to that "pack of goddamn buzzards." As someone once said, where the dead body is, there will the vultures be gathered.

Now please let me make a case for myself. And please really listen- don't condemn me as a monster before you hear me out. We all know that I have had severe struggles in the employment arena. People think that I just like to cause trouble, push my way around, quit a job and then get whatever I can from unemployment. NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. (Especially when you consider that if I was that great of a con, wouldn't I choose a better venue than unemployment?)
What if you came into the world with a mind set that said, "You will do everything that you possibly can for your company, with the integrity of a generation that has since past." And everywhere you went, you worked your fingers to the bone doing just that!
But unfortunately...you are not the owner and don't have the authority to do what you are trying to do. In fact, althouh your mind and actions are that of an owner, you are now just a worker bee. So very soon everyone around you is pissed off and thinks you are a real problem. You don't want to lose yet another job...and can't even understand why you always seem to screw things up. So you hang in until the bitter end- bypassing any chance to give the two week notice, because you just keep praying that this time things will work out. THAT IS MY STORY. And I can not possibly tell you how many times I have cried myself to sleep because of it, or what it's like to go to counselors, schools, palm readers- You name it, in desperation I tried them all. It wasn't until I was at your company that I finally figured out what my problem was, and even then only because God revealed it to me.
There are some things I said in the case argument that I would like to clarify. When I say "pack of goddamn buzzards", I really mean it in the slap you on the back, where is the fishing pole sort of way. When I say that where the dead body is, there will the vultures be gathered- I mean that the last time I chacked your company was having some problems, as was evident by the number of vultures in it.
Although I have been angry with you, I DO NOT HATE YOU OR WISH FOR ANY HARM TO COME TO YOU. I REALLY DO NOT.
I have had enough of hatred and condemnation to last two life times, thank you very much.
The last time I tried to reach out to you, I know that there was a lot of commotion. And then sure enough I was punished by being fraed up as a thief. That's just what I know about- who knows what else went on that I didn't know about. Sounds like a really good case, doesn't it? Not many loose ends...If there was no counter argument, many would simply buy it. But what if we say that although the Gudlesky's are well meaning, they really have no idea about the plight of the poor. Therefore, they allow/ overlook things not out of mean-ness, but simply out of ignorance?
Contrary to what you seem to believe, most workers are not chomping at the bit to sue you. They would rather have a position in a really good working environment where they can maximize their skills and grow. That is actually true- otherwise you would see a lot MORE suits occuring.
THE GREATEST GIFT THAT YOU CAN GIVE TO THE POOR IS A CHANCE TO EARN A DECENT LIVING IN A PEACEFUL, PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENT.
That is something that only the owners can do, because everyone else is going to follow your position. Gifts of any amount of charity will fly in the face of a business owner who will not allow the poor a chance to put food on the table.
If you combine that with taking away unemployment benefits because you must cover the fact that you didn't do your job, and then you have to give a bad reference to keep it all tidy...Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you have probably put a few people out on the sreet and in the position of being destitute. Honestly, you owe those people an apology.
