I recently sent for a trial offer of Perfect Prime anti-aging cream ($4.99) and Radiant Restore eye cream ($4.95) as advertized on the Internet. When I checked my bank statement about three weeks later, I saw that the company had charged my account for $87.94 and $89.95 respectively.

I immediately called the number listed with these charges to complain that I hadn't ordered any further product, and asked why I had been charged for an order that I hadn't placed. The representative told me that in the "terms and conditions" of the trial, it clearly stated that if I didn't cancel within two weeks of the original order, I would be automatically signed up for a monthly auto ship program. I didn't remember even seeing a "terms and conditions" section, so it wasn't "clearly stated" at all. The representative told me the order was already shipped, and I was not allowed a refund. As I continued to complain, she first offered me a 35% discount, then a 50% discount, and finally a 75% discount, but would not offer a full refund.

Whether or not I actually get the product is yet to be determined. The anti-aging cream only lasted two weeks. I still have eye cream left, but neither product lived up to the claim that it would "brighten" my skin and soften fine wrinkles. The representative did cancel my "subscription" to the monthly auto ship program. However, this "trial offer" was a complete scam, and I'm still out $44.48 for a product that doesn't work and that I didn't want.
