Dear consumers; Performant aka Performant recovery inc. Is a legitimate business, they handled multiple client groups debts that have been passed on simply for collections; those clients still own the debt. Performant is in contract with specific clients to collect on debt. Please read; When a loan has defaulted, the balance is immediately due in full. Now guarantee agencies know most people cant afford that! Most people qualify under the student loan rehabilitation program for hardship payments AS LOW as $5 a month for about 12 months to get the loan out of default. That is based solely on income and family size. This program is revised by the US department of education. And Performant is just there to assist you in getting your loans back on track, after all.. if you would have just kept up on your payments, you would not be in this situation or dealing with this collection agency. Life happens though and there's a way to help. They're nothing to be scared of, just there to help. So next time that number you're scared of calls you, just pick up and take the correct steps to fix things!!!!
