Are you ready? Because what I am sharing with you about this company is the real inside scoop- Investigated and proven

I applied for the job title "Events and Promotions Coordinator" on a career site for Peridot Promotions OCT 2015. From the initial job snapshot the requirements and logistics of it were a little brief but sound- so I applied. I heard back almost immediately from them. I have had the privilege of working in a very professional background in prior positions I’ve held, so I felt a little uneasy from the get-go on the initial screening.

The woman on the line was nice and enthusiastic but asked very easy initial questions that pretty much anyone with a normal IQ could answer to get to the next round of interviews. Something like: "Your resume looks like you’re really someone who could fit the role were looking to fill! How do you feel about the advertising/marketing and promotions an industry?" -I obviously answered that with a positive, well-crafted response. She then asked questions that just verified the fact that I’m interested in the role they are portraying to fill. Ex: “Is organizing and managing a team something you’re interested in? Is working with management and coordinating events and advertising campaigns something you are looking to do? Since I applied to this job in the first place, OBVIOUSLY I was looking to do those things or I wouldn’t have applied. The part that initially stood out to me is that the initial phone interview was too easy (set up so you couldn’t fail) and she didn’t ask questions about my resume that would be relevant to the interview and the role. I don’t think she cared if she had a resume or not. (What I am meaning is that there was no: “So you have mentioned here that you managed various projects at XYZ Company with marketing, coordinating, development and deployment of products and services, could you go into detail on one of those projects?”) NONE of That at all, and for a position like the one I was going for you are always asked to go into detail on your experiences that align with the roles they are looking to fill so they know you aren’t BS-ing them and you really have done what you say you have done. The second thing that stood out to me was the fact that she didn’t ask if I really had any questions that she could answer for me. The Last thing that left a BIG RED FLAG was when I told her I had a few questions, she lost all of her scripted professionalism and COULDN’T ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS when they were very easy! Questions I asked: “Is there anything on my resume that you would like me to expand on? What are the main day to day responsibilities this role would entail? Is there already a team in place that I would be coming in to manage? Is it a normal Monday through Friday job? Can you give me an example of a project that my team and I would manage?”—She couldn’t answer anything. All she kept saying is that those are great questions to save and bring in with me to the interview. And that I really needed to just come in and talk with the manager, that he would explain everything. VERY SKECHY! I found that this place was a COMPLETE JOKE and my gut feeling was right on point! The location is a s*** hole. The photos of their office on their website are all phony! Their staff may be nice but they are really lacking professionalism. They are LIARS- They don’t work “with” fortune 500 companies. What they are contracted out as a 3rd source by these fortune 500 companies to go to a local Costco or other consumer stores, set up a table display and try to sell this other company’s product or service for them to the customers shopping. I didn’t go to the interview, instead I went online and did a little recon- I found some people’s insider information of what this company really is and does and then went a step further by visiting my local large consumer store. There I found some of their employees that had set up a display table and were advertising a company’s product. These people worked for Peridot Promotions Inc. and were doing just what I had read earlier on these legit private insider reviews. I emailed the recruiter right away after completing my investigation and cancelled the interview. Best of luck you bag of BS and Lies!

Below is another individual’s experience that occurred just before mine in Aug 2015 for the SAME ROLE:

I was told that this would be a 3 part interview. BE WARE: THE SEVERAL JOBS THAT THIS COMPANY ADVERTISES FOR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ADVERTISING, PROMOTING, OR EVENT PLANNING!! They say that they work with Fortune 500 companies. But this is the catch: they basically are contracted by fortune 500 companies such as Direct TV, etc.. and all you do is stand at a table at the local Sam's or Costco and sell Direct TV to passing customers. That is the extent of it. They also may have additional companies that they are contracted with - who knows. But the fancy office pictures and environments that is displayed on their website is a TOTAL FAKE! The actual office is a total dump located in Antioch (the armpit of Nashville). Such a disappointing experience - and was a total waste of my time! ABSOLUTE FALSE ADVERTISING!! They tell you over the phone that they are looking to hire someone and then bring them into a management position within a few months time. Yeah, all you are doing is then training others to work alongside you at the local Sam's Club. You basically get a base salary, and then have to sell a few packages each week. Then, after you reach your 3 or 4 accounts, you receive additional commission. I hope this helps someone out there. If you are looking for a direct sales job, then this might work for you. But if you are actually looking to work for a marketing firm that does special events and promotions: DON'T WAST YOUR TIME!!
