Intro, During the past few years the vets have been chargin excessive fees for one visit up to 125.00 just for an examination. other services are not included and they are operating as if the aninmal is a human/patient and mimiking the human health care system and even now insurance companies are getting into the business of pet insurance.

I went to two vets and each and I had a bill of at least 200.00 for an xray and antibiotics, then one vet reffered me to the emergency (hospital). all the records were sent and they still charge me an visit of 125.00 and wanted to repeat all the tests and do a blood transfusion for 1,000. and a ultra sound of 600.00 with a special vet.  I could not gather the funds immediately and they would not care for the dog and suggested I euthanize the dog.  The dog had severe anemia, and they claim some sort of abdominal mass. So I stated just hydrate the dog and I will handle it from there.  They reffered me to a few vets that were more reasonable. Yet, the dog was dehydrated and needed fluids so I had them administer fluids and that was 250.00 much more than a human revital hydration clinic.  all the nearby (emergency pet clinics are the same costs and they run tests and that drives up the cost of the bills / exactly the same of human health care.  they were remodeling the emergency room like a real emergency room for humans.   They operate just like a human clinical setting and the paper work is even the same for the legal end of it.  I was so disappointed in this companys concept of handling animals and charging excessive fees and the vets are just using diagnostic tools to diagnos the problem with the animal.  Because we are capitalists are suppose they can charge whatever they want and the general public is at their mercy if they do not have the funds to care for the animal and then they state you should not have an animal if you cannot afford to care for it in their mind set.  The manager was not there that day and I am glad I opted not to do the transfusion because the dog was very lathargic and could have passed and the iv push did help and I was able to bring the dog back to health and stablize it.
