When you buy an animal, what do you expect? An AKC picture perfect poops gold dog? Well it doesn't happen. Even the BEST "AKC" bred hip certified parents can breed bad pus. Get over it. If you don't like what you see go elsewhere. You should go into Animals and Things in Woodbridge NJ and compare.

I had previously worked for Pet Paradise and the customers crack you up. Who never heard of a Bichon Frise getting tear stains? I heard a customer say it was hot spots. Your dog got kennel cough and then it turned into something deadly. Well ya KNOW WHAT?! If YOUR vet treated it properly that would never have happened. Clavamox is the best thig out there it will work. Yea freakin right. People get off your high horse, You come on here and b***h about these stores and you never put in the good.

Do you know how many dogs have turned out to be incredibly healthy happy and lived long lives? More than those who didn't. It's unfortunate tat some dogs didn't come out to be an beautiful AKC pup. For your information I HATE AKC and I prefer ACA. There's more offered. Another thing about hip displaysia. 80% of the time it's not hereditary. It's due to bad diet bad exercise and overusing the young body.

This kind of stuff happens AFTER the dog is purchased. Before you complain make sure you did everything right. Mange? Mange is alays going to be in a dog ad well, stress can bring it out. Not all dogs suffer from symptoms. Some do, and it does go away and get better. Kennel cough, URI, well that comes with the territory. Would you send your child back to the hospital for getting sick? I doubt it. You can have a dog you got from a personal breeder right down the street and board it at the most reputable vet's office and it will get sick. It happens people.

Either you love the animal or not. Now, all of your guarantees are IN WRITING. Why do you question them? Your Golden Retriever had white spots and your vet said it's not pure bred. Well ya know what? Vet's don't know that kinda stuff! That just means that your dog had unfavorable spots that cant be in a show. SO WHAT?! These are the same people that say there is such thing as a teacup yorkie maltese or chihuahua.

Noooooo such thing! I can relate this to Greyhounds. these poor dogs are bred and killed. Is this what you want everyone to do? If a puppy is born and isn't perfect but will make a perfect pet do you want it killed? This is bull-crap. These people are SO uneducated I wish I could slap them all. Go ahead listen to your vets who are stealing your money. Just because someone had Dr. before their name, doesn't mean they are honest.

In fact they will lie to you faster to make that $5000 rather than the petshop making it's $400 profit on the dog. Good luck and grow up everyone. You need to step on the other side of the fence for a lil. If I sold a dog I would make a whopping $10 off the sale. Why would I lie? I'm not the one making 5 figures a year! They make that money for their knowlege, not their reliability.

I'm sure that this Pet Paradise employee believes she is telling the truth. As a former employee of her boss's sister many years ago, I recall being assured that none of the puppies on site came from puppy mills or commercial breeders. They also had us dispense medications, only they didn't give us such bogus stories about what the medicine was and what it was for. They merely told us that this is what the vet prescribed however many times a day, and we medicated the dogs as instructed.

I'm sure this person was given this false information by her boss. Maybe she is very young or very naive and believes it without question, however, if looked at logically, she would probably understand that stronger medicines would be prescribed only if less potent medications didn't help the condition. Overmedicating an animal can have serious side affects as well; this is what they did at Shake A Paw and I believe they are doing it at Pet Paradise as well.

I think the issue here is not whether the dog is AKC or ACA. The issue is that these dogs are coming from puppy mills. I think that the customers who are buying these puppys want them as a "pet". As a matter of fact the employees of Pet Paradise and other Puppy Stores in the area are very proud of the fact that some of their dogs have champion blood in their pedigree. They are very quick to point that out. Why would the customer care about that. The AKC or ACA is just a registry.

Ok, on to the more important matter, Pet Paradise and its employees are ultimately responsible for who these dogs are sold to. If you dont think they would be a good pet owner because they dont know what a tear stain is then a) educate them or b) dont sell them the dog.

You offer quite a bit of expertise on animal health care in your rebuttal. Be careful. Just because you dont like veterinarians (which is obvious from your comments) doesn't mean that you know more than them. Hopefully the customers who bought dogs from you during your time with Pet Paradise didnt listen to any of your incompetent advice. And Im sure that if they relayed your information regarding lets say the Clavamox, to their licensed veterinarian they would laugh at you or maybe just shake their head.

I beg to differ with you on why a veterinarian would use Clavamox. By the way Clavamox is the equivalent of Augmentin which is used in humans and is a very effective broad spectrum antibiotic used to treat various infections including bordetella. The problem arises when a secondary infection sets in and leads on many occasions to pneumonia.

Not all puppys develop kennel cough. Im sure many do from Pet Paradise due to the conditions they were in at the puppy mill or catching it from another puppy mill pup already living at Pet Paradise. Fleas are another problem leading to tape worm. Again back to the puppy mill conditions.

The whole set up is disgusting. The employees are uneducated and rude. Hanging up on customers who are trying to get their veterinary bills paid by a promise made by Pet Paradise at the point of sale. Reprehensible. Lets not focus on which customer knows the diffenence between a hot spot and a tear stain. Run an ethical business or get out.
