In April of this year both of my Cats died. I purchased Advantage Flea Treatment from Pet Supermarket, where I was told it is the same product sold at Veteranarians. As it turns out it is not. After applying the flea drops they both got very sick and passed away. Before I used this Inferior product they were good eaters and peppy. They were great companions.

I contacted Bayer (the makers of the product) and they told me that Pet Supermarket is not supposed to be selling it. I asked how it is possible that they would have it stocked on their shelves for years and their response was that they don't know how or where they're getting it.

I find it hard to believe that they are allowing a company to sell their product and not reap any money from it. According to Bayer, yes the same company that makes our aspirin amoungst many other things like Pesticides is simply saying " We don't know how they got it in their stores". Yet, the lot numbers are the same.

It must be Counterfeit then, and who knows what is in those little tubes.I have used Advantage before from a Vet and didn't have a problem with it.But not this time. My cats suffered a horrible death, they lost their appetites, became lethargic, drooling, eyes watering, loss of control in their back legs, head shaking, and no veteranarian could help.

If you have Pets, or are an Animal lover Do Not Buy Advantage from Pet Supermarket. Until I find out for sure that the Bayer company doesn't know where this store is getting it I will never use that product or buy from them again.

These cats were my kids, and I trusted a product that was Toxic and had no business being on the shelf. Shame on you Pet Supermarket, you killed my babies. As for the Bayer company, You are not cleared of any association as far as I'm concerned.

I'm told Counterfeit Pestisides are a huge business and can't be controlled.

it sounds like this person used Advantage for dogs or Advantage - which is fatal for cats. A higher dosage of Advantage, like that that is found in advantage for dogs, can be fatal. Advantix is definitely fatal to cats, as it can cause renal failure. I have worked for Pet Supermarket for 1.5 years and previously worked at a vet's office for a year. Never have I encountered a problem arising from the product itself. It always comes from ignorant pet owners who fail to listen to product warnings or directions or try to save a few bucks by incorrectly using the product. The product that we recieve is indeed from Bayer and no one else. It is the same product as the vet's or as any other pet store's.
