I emailed an internet company called Riliable Remodelers.com. They informed me 3 companies were going to contact me regarding kitchen countertop estimates. They were 2 companies that contacted me on the phone. The one company that caught my attention was Mid Florida Contracting.
The owners name is Pete Spaziano. The owner called me and explained to me that he had a special on Corian Countertops at $25.00 per square Foot. I felt at the time this is a great deal.
He visited my house on December 15th. He came and showed me 2 samples of Corian Countertops colors. He also provided me 2 brochures with additional colors and sinks designs.
The guy at the time provided me copies of his Occupatinal Lincese, Insurance and his original Drivers Lincense. At this time I felt everything was legit. I gave him a deposit for $1250.00 with an installed date of December 21st.
I called Reilable Remodelers on the phome and to check if he was one of the companies that they had recommeded. They said they never heard of them.
At the time I tried to stop payment on the check on December 18th. It was too late. I called Mid Florida Contracting to expressed my concerns. He assured me everything will be fine and he will be installing the counter tops on December 21st.
December 21st arrived and the Countertops never came. I called him on the phone and he explained to me that they will be a delay on the countertops because of the holidays.
I called him on December 22nd and his cell phone was diconnected. I called his cellphone provider Nextel. The company spokesman explained to me his service was cut off because of non payment.
I finally realized that he is a rip off artist He did called me on December 26th to let me know that he is still working on it.
My wife called him and rip him for being unprofessional and not following up on his promises.
We did some researched on Spaziano. He has been summoned to Small Claims court at leat 10 times. And the Sheriff has been unable to serve him his papers.
We agreed to cancel our contract and demanded our $1250.00 Deposit back. He explained to me that he need to get the money from his corporate office. The check will be mailed to him on Friday the 29th.
He called me Friday morning and explained to me he will have the money today and will drop it off by this afternoon at 12:00 PM.
Well I called him he explained to me that his mail has not arrived and he will check at 1:00 pm and call me.
He called me at 3:30PM and told me his mail has not arrived yet.
I knew it was useless. Because the guy is a fraud, liar, con artist and a thief. I would caution anybody to keep this comapny off their property. Small Claims is useless. The TV Station and newspapers dont think my story is worth their time.
This guy is a hacker he gets into computer program for the remodeling companies and gets names and phone numbers.
This has been a tough year. I got ripped off by Awards Pools for liens totalling $9000.00 and this rip off artist came along.
I wrote the Consumer Fraud Dept. I'm not sure whether they can get this guy.

All this time we thought that Peter Spaziano, was just accting on bad management decision. After reading all the threads, it shows that this person is exactly what we thought a "CROOK"! Eventhough, we did get 95% of our deposit back. It does not make us feel any better, that other people have fallen victim to this con artist.
There was one thing that we did not mention on our original thread. When both my husband and I thought this man could be a con artist, we closed our checking account and transferred to a new account. We did this just to protect us for any further fraud this individual coule possibly do. We did not know what type of person we were dealing with. Especially, when he threatened my husband on the phone. He also has no regards for women as he will easily insult a woman with with no reserve.
I am still thinking that Reliable Remodeling should be held somewhat responsibile. I believe that he might have connection to someone in that company who is providing him information on his next victims. On all the thread I have read there is one common factor, besides all his lies. The common factor is all of us placed a request in Reliable Remodeling. I think there should be something done about this.

I want to Thank Mr. Spaziano for keeping his word and sending us the money stilled owed.
I honestly think that we jumped the gun and needed to be a little bit patient with Mr. Spaziano. I mixed this experience with the last experienced that we had when company we paid out money went belly up and left us with Liens on our home. Maybe we should have waited a bit before we made any more contracts and I think we mixed up a good company with the other. I belive if anyone would hire Mr. Spaziano dba Mid Florida Contracting and gave him a chance he would pull through and render services in a timely fashion.

On January 11th I got a call from the Owner of Mid Florida Contracting Peter Spaziano. He refunded almost half of my money. Im still waiting of the other $650.00. I would hope this matter will be resolve asap.

It is time to give you a woman's opinion to why we found ourselves writing to Ripp Off. What you read on the first thread, might have been harsh. Take into consideration what time frame we were in (Holidays). The last thing we wanted to do is to spend our Holidays thinking we were victims. Unfortunately, that is what we were faced with.
Here is why we rose to this conclusion. 1) 12/15/06 Mr. Spaziano showed up at our home to quote countertops. Price was decent and my husband felt comfortable, especially when credentials were given. 2)Work was to be done on 12/21/06, and Mr. Spaziano even call a day prior to confirm work as of that Thursday, so far so good. 3)On 12/21/06 first call at 0845 advising that he had sent a worker to the countertops store to check on our order. 2nd phone call to my husband advised that they had not placed the order. He advised my husband he will call back and let us know when to expect the countertops. No call. 4) I left a message very politely letting him know, that we understand that holidays can back up orders. Please to call us and advise when to expect countertops and work to begin. 5) On 12/22/06, when my husband called to follow up, he found the phone service disconnected and no way to get in touch with. Here we were expecting countertops and paid out $1250.00 to him which he cashed on the same day. 6) After not hearing from him until 12/26/06, he told my husband he switched cell phone company. Not good. If you sum all this up, this is why we are in doubt. At this time it has been 3 weeks and we are still playing cat and mouse to obtain our refund for services not rendered.
I contacted Mr. Spaziano on 12/26/06, let just say he was not cooperative on the phone. I advised him that we wish to have our money refunded and I will give him until Friday 12/29/06. That is when he call us on that Friday telling us about his brother dropping off the money, and then he switched again his story. You can make you own assumption of this situation if this company is legit or just a case of bad management business decisions. Just like my mother would say "Things that come cheap, usually end up costing you more".

I went online and found a website called Reliable Remodelers .com. I needed some countertops. They will provide me 3 contractors with estimates.
On December 13th I got 2 calls. The 2nd call was from Mid Florida Contracting. They had a special on Corian Countertops at $25.00 per square foot.
The owners name Pete Spaziano arrived on December 15th He gave me an estimate of $2500.00 for the counter tops including the sink.
I gave him an deposit of $1250.00. We agreed on December 21st for the installation.
December 21st arrived and he never came. He explained to me that due to the holidays that he would be unable to install them.
I called him the next day and his cell phone was disconnected.
I was worried and felt at the time I was ripoff.
Suddenly he called me on December 26th. He explained to me that he had his saleman working on the countertops.
My wife called him and said the deal was off. We wanted our refund by December 29th.
He explanied to me that he would be getting his refund check from his corporate office and would overnight it to me.
That day came and went and no check arrived.
All week he would call me and say 3 different excuses and he never sent me the money.
I would like me refund in full so I can close this matter.
