Absolutely evil and unethical business. The short review is if you are thinking of working with Petovera, Saberblast, or the owner Matt Ackerson, RUN AWAY!

I have had a nightmare experience with Petovera and Matt Ackerson for almost a year now. I paid several thousand dollars to Petovera's owner Matt Ackerson to develop 2 websites for me. The delivery date of these sites was around 60 days.

Unfortunately, near the delivery date, it was clear NO progress had been made on my sites. This was confirmed by my project guide at Petovera (who has since left the company in part due to Matt Ackerson's lack of ethics related to my projects) who said there was nothing in Petovera's Basecamp aside from the files I myself provided and developed.

The guide also made it clear that Matt Ackerson and Petovera outsourced their projects and didn't have anyone in mind for my projects, which according to the Petovera guide, were the largest Matt Ackerson had at the time!

It was clear Petovera and Matt Ackerson did not have the technical or managerial abilities for this job, and I was grossly misled about the firm's abilities. I attempted to discuss a refund of my fees, since no one had been brought onto the job yet and their understanding of my materials and needs were minimal at best at this late stage.

After much debate, and only after threatening a chargeback, Matt Ackerson offered to refund me. However, he would not prepare a formal contract termination agreement or a prepayment schedule. His first payment came almost a month later and was a laughable $50

I had offered for Petovera and Matt Ackerson to refund me over time since Matt Ackerson told me that a chargeback would destroy his business and I did not want to hurt a small business. This was a kind gesture with no interest or anything.

It is now 6 months later from that time and Petovera and Matt Ackerson still owe me money for services not rendered. I have had to obtain legal counsel in his home state and I honestly do not believe I will ever see another dime from Petovera or Matt Ackerson. Less than 10% of the refund amount was returned, and I am out several thousand dollars with NOTHING to show for it.

In summary, AVOID Matt Ackerson and his associated firms Petovera and Saberblast. I wish I had never opened the email from Petovera where Matt Ackerson promised he would really "kill it" on these projects. He wasted time, took and kept my money, and has really shown me how much someone will take advantage of you when you try to do them a favor.

Situation Resolved

As a follow-up to my earlier posting, I wanted to report that this matter was settled amicably with PetoVera Inc. and the company's founder, Matt Ackerson. I believe at the time the company was dealing with business growth and organizational changes that negatively impacted them on my particular project. Additionally, I believe the company has now developed better systems for handling more complex projects in the future. As per my personal statement towards Mr. Ackerson, I regret my choice of words. Matt Ackerson has always responded promptly whenever I have reached out to him with any questions or concerns. I also bear partial responsibility for this situation because upon initially terminating our project together in the summer of 2012, our companies agreed to an amicable resolution. However, I jumped the gun and broke that initial agreement, which delayed a full resolution until now. I also regret saying that Matt and his company are unethical, it is not the truth.
