Well I was reading aboue petsmart when researching on a sick pet rat. I have a 16 year old daughter who was always telling me that she did not like the conditions in the store, how clean the cages were for the dogs and cats. Well she can make thing a little more than they are, so I did not pay much attention to her. But on one visit.(after we purchased 2 pet rats from them)I saw a dog with feces on him and in the water bowl.

I told an employee and they said yeah ok. I did not see them in any hurry to take care of it. Another cage with cats seemed overcrowed with a litterbox and food, but no room on the bottom of the cage for them to walk!

They had many empty cages they could have used. Now I have a sick rat only 2/3 months old. This tends to make me agree that they need to spend more time on employee training and care for their pets.

Had I known all this before I would not have used their store. Now we are heartbroken over a sick pet. Thanks!

Some one was talking about petsmart when I was writing my complaint. My apoliges for the mistake. But my complaint is true. The animals do poop like you say, but it was all dried up and smeared on the cage. Also overcrowding was also an issue.

I think you have the wrong store

Cindy,

I seriously don't think you mean PetsMart, especially since you say you had it 2/3 months. The Delran PetsMart had it's grand opening TWO DAYS AGO!

And, they don't "sell" animals. They generally have a few cats there for adoption, and on weekends the local ASPCA will show up with dogs to adopt.

I'm sure you mean Pets Plus in Delran. Totally different store, and I have been there many times. About you seeing dog feces in their cage, guess what? Dogs actually do poop from time to time, especially puppies. While I would never buy a dog or cat from there, as most pet stores get them from puppy mills, they do seem to be very clean and I know many of the employees play with them when the store closes.

My point being, just make sure you name the proper store when filing a ROR.

Have a nice day!
