Complaint Review: Phatcampus.com

PhatCampus.com Customer Service is Terrible or Non-Existent, Shipping takes forever, Cancellations without Notice Ripoff Boca Raton Florida

I normally don't take the time to report bad businesses, but phatcampus.com is terrible. I contacted them by email twice and by phone twice. I put in an order on 08/24/06 and 11 days later my order still doesn't have any tracking information for my textbook purchase. Here's what I could find about PhatCampus.com in regards to contact information:

The address used by PhatCampus is a "Private Mail Box" (PMB) at Super Postal Center (SPC). Please note the following regarding PMB's, SPC, and USPS regulations:

- SPC has NO relationship with Phatcampus. Furthermore, SPC did not rent a PMB to Phatcampus.

- PMB's are NOT permitted to use any misleading designations, such as "Suite" or "Apt". PMB's must use either "Street Name, PMB # XXX, Boca Raton, FL", OR "Street Name, # XXX, Boca Raton, FL"

- the use of "Suite" is not permitted by USPS Regulations, and SPC takes active measures to correct misuse of the PMB designator.

- the company "Phatcampus" was NOT listed on the USPS 1583 form.

- As soon as SPC learned that the renter of this PMB was using an unregistered name (Phatcampus), SPC stopped accepting all mail items sent to that name and notified the renter of the PMB. Unfortunately, SPC rents several hundred PMB's, and there are an average of 4 names (individual and business) of each PMB. It is not always easy to catch unregistered names. To add to this difficulty, the PMB in question did have another, and similar, legitimate business name registered.

- SPC also contacted the renter of this PMB and informed them that they could not use the "Suite #" designation. We were informed that in addition to this inappropriate address being listed in their website(s), it was also in other print ads which could not be changed.

SPC takes misuse of it's PMB's very seriously. Upon becoming aware of the misuse in this instance, SPC contacted the renter with the intention of terminating their services at SPC. The renter agreed to stop any further use of the unregistered Phatcampus name, and agreed that only proper PMB designations would be used going forward. SPC further insisted on a contact and phone # from the renter that we could hand out to any consumers who call SPC to inquire or complain about this renter. The renter assured us that any customer service issues would be resolved, and understood that if SPC continued to receive complaints, their PMB would be terminated.

21 days later, still no response, automatic credit issued?

DO NOT BUY FROM PHATCAMPUS.

On 08/24/06 I put in an order for a 2 textbooks. 21 days later, on 09/14/06, I checked my account at phatcampus.com and got the following message:

----Tracking Details: Unfortunately this textbook has sold out. A refund has been initiated for this order. Please allow 24-48 hours for processing. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate your business. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you!----

In those 21 days, I emailed customer service about 7 times, called their phone numbers and left about 5 voicemails, and I even sent a letter. Not once did I hear a single word from their customer service. For all I know, I may never get my credit for the books.

DO NOT BUY FROM PHATCAMPUS. Seriously. They are absolutely terrible. Phatcampus is the worst e-commerce website I have ever dealt with! Try (((competitors' names ROR redacted))), but NOT PHATCAMPUS!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
