In July of 2005 I purchased a Philips LCD TV model #30PF9946D137. At the time of the purchase I also purchased 3 other TV's due to the loss of my home in a fire. I did request that an extended warrenty be place on this TV because of the cost. However at the time I guess that the salesman was overwelmed, as were we ,and did not add this item on.

On January 3rd my tv lost it's picture. I called philips and they told me where to carry the tv.The TV repair center informed me that it was a skaller board and told me that it would cost 430.00 to have the tv repaired. After some consideration I called to have the tv repaired as my purchase price was 1793.00 and was hoping that it would be worth the investment.

The lady then informed me that they had misquoted the price and that it would actually cost me 679.78 But not to worry as they had 3 other tv's like mine in the shop and were not able to get the part.

When I called philips they told me that they were sorry but that I was out of warrenty and that there was nothing that they could do. When I questioned being able to order the part I was told that if I was not happy I could write a letter to the address that I have provided.
