Short & sad story !

I got a Philips shaver this last April (it's November 30 today) as a gift from my kids for my birthday. It looked & worked fine for couple of months, now it doesn't take charge. I checked the charger, it's working, but the shaver itself is not. Called the customer services, they gave me a repair center address in Van Nuys area, whcih the repair center avoided taking this repair, surprisingly !

After many communications with the facebook page from Philips, they are not valueing their own warranty, asking me for the receipt ! I explained them that it was a gift & there's no way I can find the receipt.

Still after 2-3 weeks I'm left with a company that does not value it's 2 year warranty, as they mentioned themselves. I need this to be resolved, since it's a $250shaver & my kids can't remember where they bought it from.

It's amazing that how Philips keeps enforcing a copy of the purchase, for them to value thir own warranty. The shave is a 2010 model, per what they mention & basically it can't be purchased same year for me to start using it immediately !!!! Even if this shaver was purchased  more than 2 years ago (which IS NOT) the looks on the shaver & the general condition from the minimum usage would definitely show that it's in a brand new condition !!!!

The electronic parts inside ARE MESSED UP & that causes for this shaver not to accept any charge. Simple as that. Now this representetive from Philips, knowing that I can't get a hold for the proof of purchase, keeps mphesizing that there's no warranty without a reciept.

If this company is valueing it's own word, at least they would have asked me to take this shaver to a location for them to test it, but instead they sent me to a service center that even REFUSES to take a look. POOOOO !!!

Philips, you used to be in the list of valuable companies for me, but obviously NO LONGER !!

Colorado,

Almost ALL warranty service requires a receipt to validate the purchase date....

So far I don't see ANY Ripoff.  Personally I think I would remember where I purchased a $250 gift, but there is still hope.

You could ask the warranty dep't if there is a date of mfr. on the razor and if that could be used as the "purchase" date.

Also, unless it was purchased with cash, your "kids" could check their check registers or their credit card statements to determine where it was purchased.

I don't recall seeing ANY other mfr offering to do warranty repairs without the necessary proof of purchase,,,it's done to prevent Ripping THEM off (fraud).  Good luck while pursuing this.
