The volume was subtle, it went low (er) when I first got it but it was not overly noticeable till about 8 months after I had the unit. Within the past year it now goes almost to no volume and cannot be repaired. This was a refurbished Magnavox 15" LCD tv. I always thought that 'refurbished' meant they were fixed and resold. This is bull. When I called them to request another tv they said I was past the 3 month warranty and that they would sell me another refurbished at $175.00....$25.00 more than the original, plus mail the original back. What do they think people are, idiots? Not only is this a lousy deal I would never EVER buy another refurbished anything from Philips or Magnavox, both being the same company. The following is the first email I recieved back from them, arrogant:

AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND SELLING REFURBISHED TV'S THAT DON'T WORK. IS THERE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PENDING? SOMEBODY SHOULD TAKE NOTICE OF THIS. THEY (PHILIPS) NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS OF SELLING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS.
