Phillips And Burns sent a fax to my employer Tampa Florida

Phillips and Burns have called me repeatedly threatening a lawsuit if I do not pay them. They called my mother and told her how much money I owed, which is in violation of FTC regulations. When I told them they had no right to do that, they told me that somebody needed to make sure I took care of my obligations. They also sent a fax to my place of employment. The fax included my social security number, and they wanted to know what my salary was. At the bottom of the fax it says, "This information has been requested in response to a pending court order for wage garnishment." That was over a year ago and I have never received anything about a court order. Every time they call it is a different person, and while they have never cursed at me they are very abusive and try to make it sound like I'm worthless if I don't pay this debt.

They even say they are attorneys and they are not. They even threatened to garnish  my wages so I left them a nasty message telling them flat out they cannot touch my wages and I was not going to tell them were I work at or give them my work # .
If they call and say they are a lawfirm ask for the bar# if they refuse then call the florida bar and ask if they have a bar# for Phillips and Burns. If they do not have a bar then report them to the Florida or what other state they have offices in telling the bar they are a collection agency telling customers they are attorneys and they are really not.

They have offices in FLorida and New York. There are also complaints in www.budhibbs.com about them also they are on the watch list of this site check it out. Phillips and Burns are a scumbag collection agency

Here's how you beat them at their own game!

First, you need to prepare a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request as per the FDCPA. I would normally tell someone to send this via certified mail, rrr, BUT since they like sending faxes, they opened the door.

Make about 100 copies of that CEASE COMMUNICATIONS letter and send it every day to every fax# they have. Now they cannot say they never got it! Find out what time their office closes and wait about a half an hour after closing time and send these documents continuously until you get a "fax send" error which means that you ran them out of paper and/or toner. Do this every day.

Now, get notorized affidavits from anyone that they called and disclosed your debt or collections matters to. File lawsuits on these. These are worth up to $1000, plus costs to you.

File complaints at FTC.gov for the illegal and unethical collections activity.

If a lawyer is involved anywhere in this collections process, immediately file a bar association complaint against the law firm/lawyer for the ethics violations.

I did all of these things to the thugs at FRED HANNA a few years back. I had that bottomfeeder in tears begging me to stop!
