Complaint Review: Phoenix car rental

We travel 3-4 times per year around the country and have never been duped like this.  We were quoted a rate of $189 for a full size, older model car.  We received exacwags that we expected, a hunk of junk, but for the rate, that was fine.  Theyeven old us not to worry about the dings and dents, just bring it back with 4tires.  Lol.

It wasn't until we receivedthe bill in the mail that we were charged over $100 more than the quoted rate, which in hindsight, we should have just rented and received a new car with air conditioning that worked.  I called the office back and they told me that there were taxes added to the quoted rate and we had to pthe for the shuttle back to the airport after dropping off our car at apublic lot, since they were not open earlyenough to offer a free shuttle service (offered by all other rental companies).  

They never tell you any of the charges,and ask you to sign and initial throughout the contract.   Nobody reads those things word for word, ever!

This was just a poorly run operation, who just tries to make a buck with a bait and switch concept.  They tell you nothing is hidden, but they surely dont tell you the total picture; otherwise,nobody would rent from them, and they shouldn't!!

Hopefully the attorney general will investigate this, because the common person should not have to be subjected to this type of fraud!
