I was looking for a florist for my wedding. I then turned to Phoenix flower shop. As any bride I was so excited about my first wedding and wanted everything to be as near to perfect as possible.

My wedding was scheduled in August 2001. In June 2001 I went to Phoenix Flower shop to fill my flower order for my wedding. I looked in a large book of options. Since most of the flowers I wanted were out of season I choose the simple carnation flower. Which can be colored virtually any color you want and it is always in season and very affordable.

I placed my very small order as follows...Carnations, Purple and Lavander in color. I paid in advance and was given a receipt with the pick up date indicated.

I wanted to pick up the flowers sooner than 2 hours before the wedding but it was suggested to me that in order to prevent wilting they should be kept refridgerated as long as possible. That was no problem. Until...

My mother went to pick up the flowers and then brought them home, 2 hours before the wedding. When I opened the box, to my shock and dismay the carnantion flowers that were supposed to be PURPLE & LAVANDER were FUSCIA & PINK!!! I started crying,(I HATE the color PINK!) then the saddness turned to ANGER.

I called the store and told them my situation. They then called the wholesaler. They then had the nerve to tell me that "They gave me what they had" The whole reason I ordered in advance was to avoid this very situation from occuring!!

I then demanded my money back in full and they told me that they could not refund me fully but would take 1/2 off the price.

This is a warning to all brides to be! DO NOT get your flowers from Phoenix Flower Shops!! Thankfully I did not have a expensive extravegant wedding with thousands of dollars in flowers! If I could stop this from happening to just on Bride-to-be then I am happy!

I am a professional florist. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your wedding flowers. Wedding flowers are an important part of a hopefully happy wedding memory. In my experience, our Wedding customers have benefitted from and been protected by having a contract for our services.

Basically, item by item is described, and agreed upon. We must make the disclaimer that vendor issues, an Act of God, could be the cause for us to make reasonable substitutions. We also discuss these "disaster potentials" with a client well in advance of the date.

We do business with more than one vendor, and seek out product from any and all vendors. And most importantly, we have our product delivered several days in advance of the event, and INVITE the Bride for a PREVIEW! If substitutions MUST be made, the Bride is fully informed, and AUTHORIZES the changes. Our customers have always appreciated this gesture, and have been satisfied, and pleasantly surprised by the results.

As a wedding customer, you should seek out vendors with a good reputation, an excellent portfolio of their work, and willingness to contract their services.

Best wishes to all.
