Complaint Review: PhotoPoint

Photopoint.com - Irreplaceable photos? Whose fault is it? *REBUTTAL

Did we pay PhotoPoint to provide the technology to SHOW our photos or did we pay them for the SAFEKEEPING of our photos? If we paid them only to show our photos, maybe it should have been our responsibility to make back ups. If we paid them for the SAFEKEEPING of our photos, then maybe PhotoPoint is at fault.

PhotoSharing sites probably clarify this question in fine print somewhere on the site. And that's the problem. People don't read the fine print. I think some sort of statment should appear prominently on the home page of every photo sharing site making it clear what the responsibilites of the site are. Something to this effect "Members are encouraged to make back up copies of photos submitted to this site. We are not responsible for the safekeeping of the photos. We merely provide a means to display and share the photos".
