Today I tried and tried to get into my website at Photopoint but was unable to. I finally realized the website was closed! No advanced e-mail warning, no letter, no nothing from "the photopoint family", who didn't even have the common courtesy to warn paying customers their website would be closed--for how long? Is this a temporary closure or permanent? Who would know? What a dirty trick for them to pull! It is looking doubtful that any monies will be returned to newly paid customers. I should've been more careful about sending money to a company using a P.O. box address in Canada, but they looked reputable. Apparently, they weren't.

I just barely completed a month of service as a deluxe member--$30 bucks for 30 days of service--that's a dollar a day! I downloaded hundreds of photos and notified hundreds of people over the internet about my website--now I look like a fool for supplying a non-working link that doesn't work!. Photopoint, you really pulled a Grinch, and just before Christmas, too.

Thanks a lot!

The cowards at Photopoint are now offering to put your images on a cd for $24.95 claiming that they will begin accepting orders the week of March 3. Well, that week has passed and still nothing. There is not signature at the end of their message assuring customers that their images have been saved and they are trying to come up with a system to allow customers access to them.

These cowards hide behind the protection of lenient canadian bankruptcy laws which are in their favor and not in the favor of consumers who have been ripped off. Why else would they move their base of operations from San Francisco to Nova Scotia? California attorney general would never have allowed them to get away with this without attempting to file fraud charges against them. This company reorganized in July of 2001 and changed hands in order to avert thousands of lawsuits against them, then moved their base to Canada knowing they would shielded by lenient Canadian bankruptcy laws.

Sherwood Partners, Inc. handles business affairs of "Photopoint"

Here is the address for Sherwood Properties, Inc. which acts as "authorized agent" and handles "debt management" for Pantellic and Photopoint:

Sherwood Partners, attn: Peter Allen

1849 Sawtelle Blvd. Suite 543

Los Angeles, CA 90025

(310) 477-8990 ext.#251 Peter Allen

FAX (310) 477-8402/ e-mail: info@shrwood.com.

I phoned Sherwood Partners yesterday (2/28) and was told by a representative that "they still handled the business affairs for Photopoint" and that I should direct my concerns to Peter Allen. Left a voice message on his answering machine but he didn't return my call. If he returns my call or I get any useful info I will post it here. I would suggest sending written certified letters instead of (or in addition to) e-mail. The Canadian (Halifax) address for Photopoint & Pantellic is useless, as they have already abandoned that office.
