I was the crematory operator at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, Westlake Village, California, from 1/1/05-12/20/06. I have chronic kidney disease and on 11/7/06, I had collapsed on the job. The General Manager ( Terrence Shotkoski ) refused to call me an ambulance or drive me to the hospital.
Mr. Shotkoski yelled at me to go home and see a doctor. I drove myself to Los Robles Hospital in thousand Oaks, California. I was diagnosed with kidney failure, severe bradicardia, syncape and dehydration and had to spend 6 days in the hospital, two of those days in intensive care.
I filed a complaint against Mr. Shotkoski with the " Company Care Line ". Nothing was done to protect me as an employee and on 12/20/06, fraudulent charges were brought against me by "Service Corporation International." I was wrongfully terminated.
I filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against " Service Corporation International " and Terrence Shotkoski. We settled out of court in july, 2008.
