Complaint Review: Pilgrim park Physicans (Joseph Grande)

for me;  Dr.Grande is good.

I try to avoid going to doctors, but on the few occassions over the past 20 or so years I've needed a doctor, Dr.Grande has always been and will continue to be my first choice.

He's down to earth, personable, and competent.

He's not a clock watcher and spends the time required.

He seems to care more than most (despite staff).

He has walk-in service, no appointment necessary.

He seems to be a good man and a good doctor. I am and will continue to be a fortunate and grateful patient of Dr.Grande (even tho I strive to see him as little as possible:).

I saw this comment/statement and thought of how likely it is that Dr. Grande is being defamed.  I have been a patient of Dr. Grande for over ten years.  The care at his office is of high quality and provided with professionalism.

Actually, one thing stated was correct, Dr. Grande does not take blood pressure readings, his nurse does prior to his meeting with me.  Furthermore, I have found several doctors that write prescriptions as their first problem solver.  However, Dr. Grande shows concern for utilizing medications that may be contraindicated.

Overall, I have worked in the healthcare profession, not with Dr. Grande, and find Dr. Grande to be a professional of the highest caliber.  Likely, if you have a problem with Dr. Grande, you have a problem.

I just thought it only fair to comment, as many patients can be angry that they didn't hear what they wanted to and take it out of the provider of exceptional services.

Im very sorry that you are experiencing pain. I too have back pain and disc problems but my Dr would not even begin to get me addicted to oxycodone. people are so addicted to that medicine they would beg borrow and steal and even kill for them pills. I have known far to many people that have been addicted to these pain meds because Dr.s like him give them out like candy! if you have severe back problems go get the operation to take care of it. getting addicted to them pills are surely not worth it. indeed he is a very nice guy his office people are arrogant and sometimes very rude.

I couldn't believe what I was reading when I viewed the derogatory comments about Dr. Joseph A. Grande on this web-site. I'm not about to sit idly by while people berate this man. I am a patient of his and will not go anywhere else. He HAS taken my blood pressure and temp. in the past when warranted, though I was always under the impression that this was the nurse's duty. Dr. Grande is one of the most brilliant and down-to-earth doctors that I've ever met. I have two herniated discs @L4-L5 and the pain is almost unbearable at times. The injury is about two years old and practically every doctor I saw to get some pain relief either gave me none or very few narcotics. One PA told me that he doesn't give narcotics for chronic pain. How asinine is this!! Great, so I get to suffer because of his personal bias. Got to pay for it too, good for me. I have so little patience with doctors who will not write scripts for strong pain meds when they are obviously needed. Most people do NOT develop a problem with pain medicine. Even though I had MRI films, getting pain relief was often a huge undertaking. I mean, why even bother having pain meds in a pharmacy if none of these doctors will prescribe them? I wanted to knock that fool out (PA); there is definitely a stigma attached to people with chronic pain. I went to see Dr. Grande on the advice of a co-worker. This man may have saved my life, as the pain was growing so bad at times that I had contemplated suicide. As soon as I showed him my MRIreport,he promptly put me on oxycodone. NowI can function. It had gotten so bad that I had missed a great deal of work because sometimes I couldn't even walk or put on my own shoes. One of the things I like most about Pilgrim Park and Dr. Grande is that they actually listen to you. IF time permits, Dr. Grande likes to spend a few extra minutes with his patients to get to know them better and shoot the breeze. I find this to be a very rare quality among doctors. They are usually very arrogant and pompous and want you out before you even got in. True, Dr. Grande is a very big man, but that's irrelevant. He is a very competent doctor and family man, and I'm very much in his debt.
