Pimsleur advertised a 9.95 offer without disclosing having 4 seperate courses each that would charge me 68.80 each month for four payments. They may have gotten away with it as they sent the first round of tapes per the offer deal and the 68.80 first charge came on the heels of an additional shipment intitled Spanish 2...when the second charge appeared a month later I was expecting Spanish 3 that never showed and decided to keep an eye out for any additional charges...

I was then hit with not one but TWO charges for the same amount two days apart. Upon calling to dispute charges it was then that I was informed that I was now paying for 2 programs and what I was seeing was the 3rd or 4th payment for the first tapes and the 1st of 4 payments for the second tapes. I asked for a full refund for return of their product as the first tapes did not advance me any further from what I already knew and at 10 bucks I was willing to overlook that to be told as a favor they will apply all payments to the first cds they sent and I could return the second round of tapes.

Ultimately i complained to my bank who had already had experience from this sort of thing, however they could do nothing with the charges that are pending for this month and when they post I need to file an additional claim...The bank has blocked my card and has issued a replacement, however I think of the inconvenience and time to contact all accounts this card is attached to and no guarantee to get back my loss of about $275.
