Thank you to those who actually helped me with this matter.I did find that that Pinnacle is a junk debt buyer that was actually in cahoots with a credit card scam started in the 90's.Thier purpose was to SCAM and I cant believe they actually sent a rebuttal.Of course some accounts aquired by them are legit but of course I was found to be not accountable for ficticious accounts that they tried to put on unsuspecting victims as myself.I have found thaat Pinnacle is a ripoff and they are sending a rebuttal about moral?Your judgement day is near dont you want a clear concience?I request that all who are being scammed by Pinnacle to report them to the trade commission as I did and it was cleared up in no time.Thank You ...James in Lebanon Tn

Collectors responding should at least be educated

I just love it when people, especially collectors come on here and start preaching about morals, etc.
First to James - St Cloud, Minnesota,
If you are going to make an ATTEMPT at being intelligent, at least learn how to use proper grammar and spelling, along with some capitalization, etc.
Second, this is a third party collection agency/junk debt buyer. The original creditor is in no way involved here, so why, exactly should the OP pay anything? Paying will never settle the debt to the party who actually lost the money, and will only hurt the credit of the OP/debtor.
Now for "who" in Business, Montana,
You are also an idiot who wants to appear mart and give advice, but cannot spell or punctuate, etc as was the case with the response from the first collector.
Is illiteracy a requirement to be a debt collector? It appears that way.
Now,for the biggie, it is the CREDITOR or COLLECTOR who initiates LITIGATION, not the debtor. The debtor is the one who owes the money. You are obviously a moron.
FYI..Unsecured debt interest rates are calculated on a certain amount of loss, and even if everyone paid every debt owed, these companies would still find a way to rape us. That is called big business.
So, my advice, go finish your education, learn how to properly communicate, and get a real job.

statutes of limitations
here again is another case of something we see in collections from you, the debtor. this did not come from out of nowhere, you sir, simply have gotten o.k. with not paying. firstly, dispute the debt in writing (no agency takes verbal requests) and it will take some time to get the media, but how about this, if you forgot the debt you owe, then perhaps don't use credit or keep better track of your buisness. your creditor didn't hassle you when they lent you the money did they?
and as to statute of limitations??? again how ridiculous and just downrite rude. do creditors put limitations on your lending? other than balance of course. no, they don't. so saying that because legally they can't get you, dont pay? how noble, so typical of a career debtor. not that i am for creditors, with their high intrest and penalties, but i am also not for my rates going to pay for your bad intentions. sure you go through a bad period and are now perhaps in a better position, you should at least pay a portion and do the right thing.
and just an fyi, you will continue to have colletions and collections calls, wouldn't you want that to at least stop?

time - barred debts
a time-barred debt, is a debt that CANNOT be litigated by the debtor. in other words after a certain amount of time has gone by (usually 6 years depending on what state you live in) a debtor can't take action against you, and sue. i.e get a judgement, garnish wages, put a lien on your property etc. you are still obligated (morally) to pay the debt. at least make an offer in compromise. do the right thing. we all suffer when ppl like you dont pay your debts.

Pinnacle is a collection agency. They buy old debts from credit card companies. Some of the old debt they buy is 10 years old or more. They got one of mine from 1994. It had been written of years ago.
Once it's past the statute of limitations, they cannot get a judgment against you. The thing is, if you pay them, or even tell them you might pay them, the statue of limitations starts all over again and they'll put it on your credit report so don't send them a dime.
Write them a letter and tell them you are disputing it and do not owe a dime. They CANNOT put a report on your credit report if it's that old.
Pinnacle is awful.
Actually, you can just ignore them if you want. As long as the statute of limitations is past, there's not a thing they can do to you. The statute of limitations is 6 years in Tennessee.
Check your credit report at annualcreditreport.com. You're entitled to one free copy a year. If it's not on there, ignore them and don't send them money.
