Complaint Review:
Pioneer Audio
Purchased Pioneer 6500 car stereo in Jan 2011. Unit lasted two months. It was sent to a Pioneer authorized repair facility at my costs. The authorized repair facility was Blue Hen T.V. in Camden Deleware. The charge of the repair was $125.00 for a Unit that costs $65.00.
Blue Hen T.V. has had the Unit for three weeks and I was informed that when the Unit is repaired, I am responsible for the return postage even though the item is under warranty. That will be twice I have paid $15.00 if I decide to have the warranty work done. Pioneer has no warranty if you want to be honest and since they are located in Kanagawa Japan, good luck to the consumer.
I was informed by Pioneer that they will only cover $65.00 the cost of the Unit to Blue Hen T.V. in Deleware because it is under warranty. I will purchase another stereo, anything except Pioneer before I will pay another $15.00 for postage for a stereo that only lasted two months that has a 1 year warranty. Not much of a warranty.
Pioneer and myself would have been "ahead" of the game had they sent me another Unit, but that would be too smart. What a "bunch" of crooks!
