Complaint Review: Pitney Bowes

I entered into a promotion with Pitney Bowes and have been using them for 10 years.  9 years later I saw that the lease made no sense, it was more expensive than my postage.  I called them last spring to see how I could get out of the lease and they said they would renegotiate the rate with me but it would not be possible to terminate the 3 year lease I had 2 years left on unless I paid it off.  If I was looking to cut my expenses, how could I do that?  So, I reluctantly renegotiated but they didn't tell me they were adding a year to the lease.  I know I should have read the lease more carefully, but they were deceptive in their verbal renegotiation.  After all those years of working with them, it seems no way to get out of this contract without spending the money I don't have.  They rope you in with a promotion and slowly raise the rates so that the lease makes no sense.  The customer service rep was nasty to me and told me I was just mad because I couldn't get my way.  These 3 plus year leases are unfair, and very easy to mix.  As I read the reviews on this company I see others have similar complaints.  They are scammers, rude scammers, who make you wait on hold to speak with nasty people.
