Pizza Hut ,RMC ,Restaurant Management Company, Ignored unsanitary conditions, would not follow their own rules, bullied and belittled staff, Georgetown Texas
I went to work in Georgetown under a million dollar manager. (This is a manager who has an exemplary store, who provides GREAT service to guests and profit to the company.) i was raised by a nurse, so i already knew sanitary from not, but in this environment, it was very much focused on. All food had to be fresh, rotated, all conditions were clean. Every person on the team took a part in keeping standards high. The manager (CC) kept us all motivated, and was very aware that Pizza Hut was not our life, it was what we did so we could live our lives, as many of us were students with crazy availabiltiy.
Georgetown was a training store, often we hosted manager trainees, who we adopted onto our team for a while before they moved on.
I hired on as a server. At the time, there were very few people applying for jobs in Georgetown, and I worked as many hours as I could to help out. We were really shorthanded, but CC did not lose any of us, even when other places paid better. We knew our boss cared about us, and that was worth a lot to us, she was working with us to help us achieve our goals, so we did the same for her.
Then, it all fell apart. Literally, the building started falling apart. And our Area Manager refused to make the needed repairs. I had worked my way up through the ranks, not by choice, but by necessity. I promoted because if I did not, my boss would have had to close on her day off and work a ridiculous number of hours.
Our AGM was in our store one night when the rain was pouring in through the roof leaks and he and I got in a shouting match about it. One of my servers had fallen because the FIVE GALLON bucket that was catching rain water overflowed and she slipped on the wet floor. I wanted her to complete an accident report. HE did not want her to because she said she'd be okay. I told him I required the accident report and if he had fixed the roof it would never have happened!
Our AGM let it be known that he would fire anyone who went over his head to request repairs.
Our roof leaked in several places, the one by the water heater was the worst, in a full rainstorm, that 5 gallon bucket was no match, but the most disguting leak was over the makeline. Rainwater came in through the 20+ year old roof, soaked through the bat guano and alleycat nests, through the sheetrock and into the black olives, tomato and green olives.. Our AGM asked why we had the lid closed on the makeline and was told this...yet no repairs.
No repairs on the leaky walkin cooler, the roof (all areas of the store from office to dining room had leaks to some degree), faulty outlets, as the repairs halted, the store disintegrated, and we were forbidden to report up the chain of command.
OSHA showed up and set HUGE fines against the store. They were given a window of time to fix the items on the list. They did what they had to do, as cheaply as possible, including painting over mold instead of ripping it out. The store manager was blamed for the report (either suspected of making it or not stopping it.) CC left the company when the abuses from the AGM got out of hand!
The new manager traded alcohol to minors for work off the clock. I was furious and reported it. I was written up for reporting something I could not prove. Within a matter of days, my car had been vandalized three times, nails, kicked, and dirt in my gastank. As it happens, I COULD and still can prove alcohol was traded to minors for work off of the clock, but it was a moot point, no one cared!
I had to fight to throw away out of date pizza meat, finally slitting the bags open into the trash because they kept making their way back to the cooler. I was reprimanded for this!
Pregnant women can lose their babies if they eat and become ill from tainted food. Many health conditions (or the treatments) leave people vunerable to food borne illnesses!!! Food purveyors have an OBLIGATION to the public to serve untainted food!
Our AGM made fun of me to my face, prentending to "sign" and speaking like he had a mouth full of peanut butter because I asked him to face me when speaking so I could hear him. He also tried to get an asst manager to "bark like a dog" for a treat! When there was an employee report that drugs were being sold in the pkg lot, he did not protect the informer's identity, and he had to quit (else his car would have probably had thousands of dollars damage like mine!)
When Georgetown came available for the 4th time in the year since CC left, it was given to a felon, in direct violation of their own policy.
There are no managers left who were there when OSHA came. Pizza hut is self-destructing. This company does not care; about it's people, or about it's product.

The company turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to sexual harassment (Shut up or quit!), unsafe work conditions, health and safety hazards. The stores are run down and filthy, food safety standards are largely IGNORED unless the corporate inspector is due.
I got tired of singing "THE SAFETY SONG" solo. I could not keep my customers safe from out of date product or foods held at room temp, I could not keep my teenagers safe like I promised their parents, I could not provide a safe place to be while at work, and nobody at corporate in Wichita wanted to hear it.
Wichita can be counted on for nothing. Even when we told them what was going on in their stores, they did not act or respond. The ostrich position they have taken will bring down RMC. They will be broke, scratching their heads and wondering how it happened. I am amazed that franchise stores get away with so much! WHY isn't Pizza Hut watching? WHERE are Todd and Muhammad? WHO hired Anthony , Frank and Wayne, and what exactly is it that they do besides design reports and bring hard working people down?
The CC years were legendary, the aftermath was beyond pathetic. It could have been great, but the arteries of this franchise are clogged with incompetence and apathetic leaders caught up fully in the blame game.
Something to remember boys; as you wreck lives and hurt others and show boundless unconcern for the welfare of others, the Bible says, "The sins of the father will be visited upon the son". So, How's Neal?

I have been a manager of a Pizza Hut owned and opperated by Resaurant Management Company for over 6 years in Montana. I have a very strong opinion about the company. They are absolutely only concerned about one thing, PROFIT. There is no concern for store managers or staff. There is no concern for public health and saftey, they simply do not care about employees at all. Its that simple. I have been complaining about needed repairs for years and Im not allowed to budget in for these repairs. I am completely aware of health and saftey hazards at my store and at a number of other Montana Pizaa Hut stores owned by Restaurant Management Company. Managers, like myself, have complained to our AGM and RDM endlessly but they simply do not care. I have personally written letters to RMC in Wichita Kansas and to Hal McCoy the franchise owner, he doesnt give a s**t and nobody in the company does either. The ONLY thing they care about is how much money they can line their pockets with and Im not kidding. I am personally aware of sexual harrassment up to and including sexual assault on female employees, RMC stops the complaints from going any further by either firing the employee or buying them off. Ive been told by my AGM to use bad italian sausage, and pork products rather than throw them out. Yes people ate this bad food and Im certain there were people who got sick because I resceived calls about it. I reported this to my AGM who strongly advised me "This is not to go any further. Do whatever you need to to stop it right now" Restaunt Management company is a joke in the food industry and I cant wait to get another job so I can quit and report over 32 insidences of health and safety violations. The biggest concern RMC has is covering their own butts from law suits. They dont care about employees or customers at all. These people are the closest thing to nefarious Ive ever seen. Really you cannot blame the company for making huge profit margins. Store Maintenance is most important. They sit back and loose the maintenance part. All they care about is profit. As far the employees are concerned. Sexual harrassment will continue until one of the under age employee gets raped. then viola, a litigation will be followed. Maybe that is what its going to take to get RMC to stiffen up their rules.
As far the unsanitary conditions are concerned. expect that when working there.
there is no culture base in RMC employment. You have to understand that AGM and RGM will have to understand that Store manager will have to report the faulty maintenance to RMC. Once the report has been turned in, They should get on the ball and have the roof fix.
I reported the make table unmaintained. I reported the make table problems over and over until I fallen to the point where my back was injured. They was going to refuse to pay me my back wages, My own mother called the AGM and told him that they was going to take care of the issue. They paid my back wages. I hated the way the culture was practiced. I feel for the person in Georgetown Texas. I used to work in an unknown city close by.
