The two members of management are unseparable friends. Which is a good thing. Except when it comes proper management duties. I know that all employees have a policy to follow, but what about the management?

There are labour laws to prevent management from treating employees poorly. It doesn't help me any if no one ever enforces the management. It's sad when management needs a babysitter.

I have never been approached about taking my required break, even after five hours. They have made me work over nine hours in a row, or until they saw fit for me to leave (More than once I have worked over twelve hours in a row with no break).

Their preference is speed and money over anything else, including worker welfare.

On April 6th of this year I was given a written warning by the assistant manager (Travis Sundin) for clocking out on April 5th and leaving the premises without permission. Of course the manager (Tim Spak) didn't question it because his friend knows best. It's a grey area whether the write up is even warranted in the first place. I'm an obedient prep cook. When given an order I always follow it without argument. Before if i was told, and I quote, "That's good" that usually meant I could leave.

We just had a staff meeting recently and the management stated that first we would receive a verbal warning, then a written one. I received no verbal warning first. I feel like a target for someone who wears their emotions on their sleeve. I would love to resolve this within the restaurant, but it seems impossible to reason with the two of these people. I would just accept the write up and call it misunderstanding, but on April 5th, Travis Sundin had his significant other roaming freely inside the kitchen. That is a clear violation.

I could either try to fix the problems in a job that I want to keep, or just give up and quit. I don't want to quit, but I can't go on working for people so corrupt.

Alright, that's it. Before one more person responds to my posting, I suggest, first, you learn to read, second, learn to spell and third, think about what you are typing before you end up looking stupid. I am not, I repeat, NOT defending the managment at Pizza Hut. If anyone feels that venting to a web site that does nothing other than post it for people to see, as useful, then fine, that's your opinion. Apparently I need to reiterate. I stated already in my update that I no longer work for that company. Sometimes it's just better to not work for someone if the cons out weigh the pros. It's not avoiding dealing with it, it's just realizing that the job position just isn't worth the bother. If that's not dealing with it, then I don't know what is. For the record, I was not spoon fed any of my update. Before you put your fingers to the keyboard again, consider taking the spoon, undoubtibly full of pablum, out of out your mouth first.

it might be more acceptable for the retraction if it did not sound like he was being handfed everything that he wrote. Tim suddenly went from evil jerk to demi God who is just as mucha victim as the original writer.

Anyone can tell that the original was a vent. letting off stea mand perhaps riporr reports was not the best place to do that. but that is 1 person blowing off steam.. if there were 5 or 6 different people letting the world know how they felt about this same restaurant then there might be an issue.

All jobs have managers that prefer certain people over others, you are not likely to find a place where that is not true. deal with it!

I might suggest that any one reading the "Retraction" from the original poster, accept it with a grain of salt. "Why" you might ask. He did the retraction 1 YEAR and 1 WEEK after the original post. Just something to think about.

Tim Spak Pizza Hut Update

#5Author of original report

Sat, April 15, 2006

At the time that I originally wrote about Kenora's Pizza Hut and Tim Spak and Travis Sundin as managers, I was beyond livid at how anyone could knowingly run a business and have the formerly mentioned things go on. Ripoff.com is what seems to be nothing more than a way to bring certain things to the public's attention.

I posted my complaint out of anger and frustration, but not the intent of hatred. I meant everything and I was not dishonest, overly rude or immature. I didn't even realize what I had done until Tim himself called me after finding what I had written about. I know I would be upset if I found such bad things said about me.

For the record, I have brought small problems to Tim's attention. He may have had the intention to change things for the better, but I always felt like a worker bee not getting anywhere talking to Tim about problems that I had encountered. More often than not, it was things that were out of Tim's control that never changed. It wasn't always because they were beyond Tim's control but the main problems were. That is the main reason why I quit working for the Pizza Hut industry, because the management above a mere store manager control more than Tim can change.

In Tim's defense, he helped me out alot at work and if he was my boss, but not in the given situation of working at that particular job, then I would have no problem working for him.

Even if Tim was a dink, which he is not, finding out that one of his employees went behind his back and posted a public complaint wouldn't accomplish anything. I will say this, somtimes there are some managers that have good intentions and some that don't. Sometimes it's hard to speak face to face about some problems because it won't do any good. It is my opinion that Tim does in fact care, at least somewhat, and it was the whole industry that I had more of a complaint towards.

If someone from the district management cared at all about employees, I wouldn't even have had to try to obtain help from outside Pizza Hut. It could've been handled internally and Tim could have had the problems brought to his attention by people who could actually make him change things. Unfortunately, our district management does not care about their employees and therefore does nothing ever to help out the little guy. It's all about sales, despite what they will tell you, and Tim really just does what he's told.

I was wrong to use the internet as a vehicle to post a simple ranting online for anyone to see. I believe that offical complaints should be brought to the attenion of specific people who can help and not simply posted for anyone to see just for the purpose seeing.

Ripoff.com is a good place to go to blow off steam, but I would never post anything expecting to receive any real help in whatever situation I have written about.
